I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Pedophilia is in fact Child Abuse/Rape, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Child Abuse plus Rape. Pedophilia is not an act unto itself, but rather a sexuality or fetish within a person's mind which can, on rare occasions, cause them to commit Child Abuse plus Rape.
Many adult men have some degree of pedophilic attraction without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, acts of Child Abuse you hear about on the news are often incorrectly described as pedophilia, and many people are not aware that pedophilia is a common sexuality which will not endanger any children if properly managed.
There really is pedophilia, and some of those rapists are also pedophiles, but it is just a small part of the reason why they commit those crimes. Pedophilia is the sexuality: the part of your mind which decides who or what you get aroused by. One's sexuality is an important part of one's mind, but harmless by itself; it can only lead to rape or abuse when the person has a severe lack of empathy, either due to genetics or emotional scarring. Pedophilia is frequently encountered in combination with this emotional scarring due to the way they are treated by society: growing up being told you are an evil monster who is destined to rape kids is not conducive to healthy psychological development. All the so-called pedophiles are really sociopaths or victims of prior emotional abuse!
