Anime Inter-Board Friendship Ring: /kind/ /am/ /w/ /spiral/ /desu/ /tomoko/ /monster/

 No.22778

How do we make /am/ popular?

 No.22780

File: 1447411170723.jpg (769.73 KB, 800x1122, 400:561, 1437065081660-1.jpg)

>>22778

I think /am/ is fine as it is, but I guess you could find a way to attract /a/'s userbase. Force conflict between the boards or something.

 No.22788

File: 1447433176386.jpg (1.61 MB, 1676x1120, 419:280, Ammit-chan Supreme with Sw….jpg)

>>22780

No, anon.

The way to making it popular is to steadily create content that attracts others here, and share it with other boards to get them to visit.

That is how /monster/ slowly made their way up to the top 25. Well, that and their movie nights. Having some tea-party-like event in the same way /baphomet/ did might work. Maybe a funpost mosh pit event or something.

/am/ essentially just needs to work on establishing more of an identity for itself. It has a lot to choose from in that regard, and a lot of potential, so don't give up and go down a dark route again, like what happened with proxy spam ages back that had only good short-term effects but no good long-term effects.

You gave me the greatest calzone I have ever tasted, /am/. So long as I continue to remember its taste, I will always be convinced you can rise above h/a/te.

 No.22789

Something recurring. If you have to come to a specific place to keep enjoying it people will come and stay on their own. Look at /monster/. Small enough that it's not shit but has enough recurring content to sustain itself. It doesn't have to be CYOA stuff, it could just be a thread with something worth discussing over the long term. Classify thread types by trying things out then people will make them on their own.

 No.22792

>not making a wewf girl cyoa with every action drawn in lovingly shit oekaki

 No.22795

Why would you want to?

Name one decent community that ever got popular and didn't immediately lose everything decent about it.

 No.22808

>>22795

I just want at least 150 UIDs posting here

At least then maybe this board wouldn't be so dead…

 No.22810

>>22808

Having this board on the top 25 would be nice.

 No.22813

File: 1447453016492.png (885.31 KB, 1020x720, 17:12, le pupper face.png)

>>22808

>>22810

We're barely 10 people, if we were suddenly 150 then we wouldn't be /am/ anymore.

We'd have to be very dedicated to teach all the new users about the ways of dogposting.

 No.22827

>>22808

/am/ with 150 UIDs would be absolutely unrecognizable, especially since that would put us in the top 25 and the top 25 boards all have pretty much the same culture.

 No.22832

>>22813

>we'd have to be very dedicated

Are you doubting the magic of /am/?

Either way, it's not "suddenly," it's an increase over time.

 No.22833

File: 1447459260983.png (159.29 KB, 1166x323, 1166:323, 1424308075234.png)

Have we even gotten any new users since /am/ started? I get the feeling that we've always been the same people.

 No.22834

>>22833

You gained me.

 No.22835

>>22833

I don't think so. I think we lost a chunk. We used to be 100+ users

 No.22837

>>22833

I don't really see how /am/ would get new people when 8chan is stagnate.

 No.22839

File: 1447460014649.png (489.57 KB, 779x633, 779:633, 1424178351931.png)

>>22835

>We used to be 100+ users

There's no way we were ever that many, wasn't that just because of the tea parties and proxy spam? I mean we did become top 25 at one point, even above /a/ if I'm not mistaken.

 No.22840

We don't. It's not worth advertising a board because it usually just leads to a few spergs spamming the board and at worst holding a grudge for no reason and doing it constantly. It's even difficult to casually namedrop it on other chans because there is a stigma against 8ch being cancer.

We should just stay hidden. If you have any decent weeb friends, tell them, that's the only hope for real growth.

 No.22844

>>22840

What boards even have people that would really fit in here anyway?

 No.22847

>>22840

>It's even difficult to casually namedrop it on other chans because there is a stigma against 8ch being cancer.

We really need some dedicated /am/ chan, then we could advertise ourselves as just another /a/jp/ spinoff chan and gather a small but constant userbase.

 No.22848

File: 1447461309520.jpg (497.02 KB, 1280x912, 80:57, You may only be one.jpg)

I like our small, tight knit group.

 No.22849

>>22848

Me too dude.

We'll be fine as long as nobody leaves! It'll all work out if we're autistic enough to be incapable of removing /am/ from our daily routines.

 No.22850

>>22844

/monster/ user here. You could likely draw a lot of us onto here.

 No.22851

>>22848

Why not enjoy a smaller tight knit group for now, and then when /am/ gets bigger, make a /slowam/ to continue being a small tight knit group at the same time?

 No.22854

>>22851

It has to be this small tight knit group.

It's not the same if I don't see someone posting [am] filenames every once in a while.

 No.22855

>>22851

Why don't you just make /fastam/ and skip the middleman?

 No.22856

>>22854

how do you know that that guy didn't die months ago and that someone new didn't take over his role in /am/?

 No.22857

but anon I am trying my best to switch my IP and post here what else am I supposed to do

 No.22859

>>22856

That's the beauty of anonimity! It doesn't matter if someone dies as long as their legacy and dank memes live on.

 No.22861

If only /am/ was this active in other threads…

 No.22862

>>22861

It is kind of weird that everyone seems to come back for like one meta thread a day and then instantly disappear again.

 No.22863

>>22862

It's because posting in meta threads doesn't have the same creativity or anime watching requirements.

 No.22864

>>22863

>anime watching requirements.

Just fake it tbh

That's what I do.

 No.23167

I'm bumping this thread since we're dead again

 No.23170

>>23167

Don't say this, it lowers the morale!

You know /am/ has always had this speed, you only notice it when you're actively refreshing for new replies.

 No.23171

I demand you and others post more

http://archives.4-ch.net/net/kareha.pl/1114736159

I found this archive of an old textboard from ten years ago discussing how to be more popular.

Nice read, most of the discussion is still valid now.

 No.23238

That was an interesting read!

 No.23271

All I'm getting from 5 minutes of reading this is that we need more porn and memes.

 No.23273

>>23271

>>23272

But it has to be porn and memes that people can't find anywhere else.

 No.23274

>>23273

I guess it's finally time to start up our /am/ateur porn business.

 No.23276

>>23274

We could cut out the middleman and sell at /am/ondos pizza deli and adult video store.

Also if you need a horribly underweight guy who never looks happy for your films know that I'm always ready.

 No.23279

>>23276

/am/ will be the best place on the internet for finding "horribly underweight guys who never look happy porn". Then we're playing into what this guy >>23273

noted.

 No.23294

>>23276

This will be perfect. Now you need to find a bunch of con sluts and pay/train them to do extremely in-character IRL animaymay porn with scripts written directly by /am/.

 No.23316

>>23294

Maybe we could get Ai Takabe to star in our first video.

 No.23319

>>23316

But then we'd have to pay her enough to fully pay for her bail and get her out of jail.

 No.23334

Inb4 all /am/ porn is gay furry about guys in dog cosumes going "wewf".

 No.23336

>>23334

Nah, but there'll be a lot of monster girl porn involving dog girls.

It's the only way.

 No.23434

>>23417

What's with all the speed complaints, /am/ is faster than ever right now.

 No.23435

>>23434

I think they're just to get people to post something.

 No.23460

Someone samefag with proxies please

 No.23488

>>23434

I think it's just one guy trying to meme.

 No.23493

>>23460

No. That's the same thing that fucked /am/ over into being smaller than /a/ in the first place. It doesn't do anything in the long-term to secure users. You need to continue to make new content that you share with the rest of the site that brings in people.

That and stuff like movie nights and tea parties.

 No.23494

>>23493

You guys wanna watch me play some anime related vidja later if I can get my friend's shitty capture card working?

/v/ would be overjoyed at having an animu board he can actually enjoy talking about Jojo at.

Height: short enough to crawl into small spaces

Build: qt dog ears and tail, toned legs and butt

Personality: Infinitely smug bandita/oekaki mangaka dog girl who steals the hearts of all of /a/'s waifus. Doesn't like whining. Will help you make the best shitposts in return for your love.
