I'm beginning to agree with this post
>>975. If you want a hangout board for you and your friends that's cool. But this is supposed to be /a/. I'd think you'd have a little more respect for that name than this. You're hostile, unprofessional, and seemingly trying to impose your views on everyone. This is supposed to be a fun board. How can people have fun when they have to tiptoe around what is and isn't bannable
today? This isn't halfchan/a/. It will never be what /a/ was. The past is the past and you should hold onto the old stereotypes and make this a prejudiced "Oldboy's club" that kicks out anyone who doesn't know every old meme taboo.
Yes, we all hate seeing certain types of bullshit. I hate people using the smug face. Not because they're being smug, but because it
really emphasizes how dumb they are. But if I was running /a/ I wouldn't ban people for doing it. Because /a/ is more than you. It's more than me. It's all of us. And we all have to get along or we won't have a home anymore.
So please. Write up a definitive set of rules, not based on your personal preferences, but for what's best for the board, and stick to it. Give 10 second warning bans explaining why they're being banned. You'd be amazed how little work you'd have to to if the most relevant rule being broken wasn't just labeled "shitposting" And you even made a 2a
"I trust the users to understand what shitposting is. I cannot begin to teach you board etiquette, so if you have any doubts, I suggest you lurk more and familiarize yourself with it." Really? Why even bother saying anything. Do you know how this reads to me?
"We can ban you for no reason"Don't expect people to know what you consider shitposting. Lurking won't help people all the posts are deleted anyway. If you have to ban leave it public so other's can learn.
