Ahayweh, and welcome to the /a/ meta containment and demoralization facility /ameta/!

If you are here to complain about a ban, please remember to include an archive link/screencap of the thread in question. Thank you!

How the hell did we go back to 544 IDs? /a/ seems slower now too. Did we just have a weird two-week long bump or something?

There was an bug with Active Users when /boards was updated but it's now fixed.

The changes made is better representative of how many posters /a/ has, so it's not like the popularity board has dropped.

This is retarded though, now what it's showing is 'number of ISPs that are being used to post on /a/', which means any anons using the same ISP in the same city/region (/16 often spans multiple cities) are going to be counted together. It's really a miracle it's still so high at all.

Looks like /scurv/ will likely overtake us. There's all kinds of weird proxyfagging going on today, they seem likely though a quick browse shows that their BO claims he doesn't want or approve of anyone falsely inflating their boardsize.

I don't get what scurv is, looks like another meme board.

Nevermind, I'm assume this has to do with that steam shit?

Yes, Steam fucked up so bad that they revived pirate culture within a single day.

I've been living under a rock.

What did Steam do?

Basically mods on PC games (which are generally fan-made) that were previously free were given a price tag. A portion went to the person who made the mod but the lion's share went to Steam themselves.

Pretty much all the major gaming communities were outraged by it and Valve decided to remove the price tags on mods.

It's why you'll be seeing a drop of user count on /scurv/, but I'm thinking it'll still have a place on the top 25 for a while now, but only in the lower tiers.
