Does anyone else here think that the /a/ board has an inherent set of traits, common across the chans? In addition, do you think that /a/nons have traits that bind them together (weaboos, normals, otaku, all)? 'Cause I used to be a lurker on /tg/ and frankly it seems to be the same, with the same types of people, no matter where you can go. (pic unrelated, but funny)

I would like to think so, yes. There may be differences in demographics

Hit enter by mistake while editing.

I would like to think so, yes. There may be slight differences in demographics from one place to another, but in general the type of discussion generated is similar.

>>2199 Would you consider listing some of these traits? I'm genuinely interested in what that might be. If nothing else, I have enjoyed discussions about emergent tribal cultures on the internet before and I simply want to understand how /a/ (or /ameta/) works.

You could try lurking until you understand the board culture.

As for /ameta/, it has none. This board exists so that /a/ doesn't have to deal with meta content while talking about cute girls doing cute things.

The only unifying trait I can think of is "people who watch anime". Going to a few other places (Tohno-chan, fufufu.moe) there are a number of similar threads (in one case nearly identical, "you have until the end of the season to watch") on various shows or other topics, and all have slight differences in discussion. The topics are similar because people who have been to /a/ (any incarnation) know what goes on and generally like the same things, but there are differences in individual communities and it shows in how people post.
