They hate us but it's misguided hate. I was part of the first exodus to 8chan and don't even play video games or participate in /v/. I just got tired of the mods and 8chan was a chance to leave that place. It's really a shame that they hate us so much.
Mods are really soft on /a/ now compared to when they were before the first exodus. It's not because they suddenly care. It's because they don't want a rebellion. If /a/ rebelled like /v/, /jp/, /pol/ and /sp/ that would be a big problem for 4chan. But I'm not going to let their softness lure me in because I don't want to go back there.
Tensions I think will be high between 4/a/ and the moderation in the coming future. But the moderation will be like loving babysitters and go into damage control should any problems happen. Moderation fucked up other boards but they stopped themselves just in time for /a/ before it became too late. They only realized that after ruining several other boards and causing a mass migration to 8chan.
They don't even know that 8chan is the only thing right now preventing moderation from bringing down the hammer on them.

The reasons as to why 4/a/ primarily hates 8chan are still very alive.
This site is INFESTED with /v/ermin and I can put my good foot down and say that they compromise a bigger ratio on 8/a/ than on 4/a/.
It's one of the things that just doesn't fucking add up. Why setup camp in ground zero of newfaggotry and shitposting? 99% of the boards on this site are dead or garbage. And /a/ is but a tiny living spec on the pile of rotting carcasses. There aren't even that many benefits nowadays. The last time there was plenty of good discussion on 8/a/ in general was like February. Nowadays most threads are stale and devoid of discussion, no drawfags, no OC, etc.
This is also why it doesn't make sense that meidos want to have a second /a/ with this population. Hell, meidos don't even treat the place like 4/a/ even though they want it be like it. They treat the board like a much more stricter version of /a/ with additional rules.

I don't think /a/ hates or has an opinion at large on 8chan. In meta threads, the majority hates it, but that is partly because of shilling - it was bannable for a long time to mention this website in a non bashing light and maybe still is. In regular threads, if you mention that 8ch is an alternative for your fanbase it is generally well tolerated, for example the aikatsu and precure people seemed to acknowledge 8ch as a good alternative if their threads ever got banned.
