This morning I was banned from /a/ for one day with only motivation that I was tripfagging.
Whatever tripfags are liked here or not, it's written absolutely nowhere on the rules, neither general or /a/ rules, that it's forbidden to tripcode. If I'm not wrong it's even possible for the board owner to deactivate tripcode if for whatever reasons he don't want tripfags.
I'm not here to make my unban request going faster (and honestly it's a 1 day ban, I can wait), I'm here because of the following questions :
1. Why am I banned while I did not break any rules ?
2. Even if it was a rule, why directly a ban and not a simple warning at first ?
3. Why my post has been deleted ? I wasn't even shitposting, it was an OC on the "Write an anime plot" thread (and I can copy past it here if needed, because hopefully I saved it on my laptop before posting).
4. If I'm true and it's possible to deactivate tripcode, why not activate this option ?
5. If it has been decided somewhere that tripfagging is forbidden, why isn't it on the rules ? Enforcing a rule which isn't displayed isn't the good way to do.

I'd like to have answers, because I don't want 8ch /a/ to become as shitty as halfchan/a/. That's also why I made a thread on /ameta/ about it here instead of just using the appeal function, to have the answers publicly available.
From the few I know meido-sama is a good guy who think before act, maybe it's a board volunteer who made this ban, but I have nothing to prove (or invalidate) this.

Yeah OP is a fag, yeah he should have known the uses of /a/. But I completely agree with him on the fact that the mod went too far away. Deleting his post wasn't necessary, and if the tripcode needed to be deleted, mods can do it (afterall they spoiler images without banning those who forgot/don't know they have to, why not apply the same rule for tripcodes ?).

Board etiquette should be left to board etiquette. If one of the 4ch tripfags starts posting here, I'd rather be able to filter them than force them to be anon. And since there are justifiable tripcode uses, it shouldn't be in the mods domain to decide the line between legit or shitpost. Although you could make the argument that we are so slow legitimate tripcode use is unnecessary.
