Is Graffiti an effective way to get our message across? Not just the graffiti itself, but inst it also an act of defiance in and of itself?

>>7326Tried to upload the video like 4 times, but 8chan hates me today.
Anyway, an 64 German graffiti artist called "OZ" got hit by a train while tagging last year.

It gets a point across, maybe not the best and most articulate way of getting a point across, but it is thought provoking. It is an act of defiance against capitalism and such too, yes.
I approve.

>>7325hey come on, there's nothing wrong with clean walls…..painting walls against the "clean pig state" isn't true.
Though I do find graffiti artistic.

>>7347I agree. The idea that all walls should be available for graffiti is as bad as the idea that none should.

>>7353And what walls are exempt from graffiti exactly? Im not saying you should go drawing dicks everywhere, but what exactly makes something not graffiti-able?

"People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you’re not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you.
You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity.
Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.
You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs." - Banksy

Houses, important signs, small children. Stuff like that, you really shouldn't be writing on it. Unless you're a dick.

>>8131Who fuck does graffiti on small children? Anyway, in my opinion actual houses are kind of off limits, but the land belongs to the people and you never gave the government permission to put those council flats there. As a general rule, I'd say that if the graffiti would make the setting look better to you then it's fair game.
