e0c110 No.7334
The anarcho wiki is up, please check it out here:
anarchism.orain.org
I look forward to your contributions or suggestions.
e0c110 No.7335
>>7334>>7334I wrote a guide on how to make new pages btw.
I hope those of you who have read a lot of anarchist books, history etc can contribute. Even the basics like the paris commune, haymarket etc. are fine.
e0c110 No.7336
I'd also like to ask you guys, which creative commons license is the best? I will make a request to the orain admin, he will change it.

Reposting suggestions from another thread:
>Change license of the wiki to creative commons public domain CC0
>Enable anonymous (hidden IP) edits if possible, alternatively make a community account that can be used by anons on the board
>It would also be nice to know what wikimedia extension are available to us
aa9f04 No.7338
>>7335Will do my best.
>>7336CC0 (public domain), definitely.
e0c110 No.7339
>>7337I'll make the request for CC0, it will be granted.
>Enable anonymous (hidden IP) edits if possible, alternatively make a community account that can be used by anons on the boardI don't think this is possible. Just use a VPN, like the one made by Riseup. But I will still ask the admin, though if anti-anarchists were to vandalize it, I would have to lock articles for user ID edits, I don't see a way around this.
>>It would also be nice to know what wikimedia extension are available to usLiterally any compatible ones can be requested and the owner will add it.
e0c110 No.7340
File uploads are enabled by the way
e0c110 No.7341
Anyway, while I have made a request for CC0, It seems stupid.
Why not use a CC license that does not allow commercial use?
e0c110 No.7342
I think adding information to this article is priority.
https://anarchism.orain.org/wiki/Rojava 40a9b5 No.7343
>>7341I doubt the purpose of "commercial use" for what will be revolutionary anarchist theory would be something nefarious. At most, maybe an anarchist paper that charges a fee for print costs or to cover some of their expenses.
Not that we would be in any position to enforce such a license anyway, unless Orain has free legal services as well.
Besides, what's the harm in it? Public domain against private property makes sense to me.
3f4d4d No.7349
Pretty nice. I also suggest responding to typical misconceptions and myths about anarchism, and have a page up for resources (books, documentaries, sites, etc).

>>7343I really like that symbol… Is very good.
839cfc No.7412
Good to see that a few articles are being worked on
d071a4 No.7422
>7412
I've copied and expanded some stuff from the resource guide (in attempt to make it defunct) and done a very small edit on the Rojava article, I will add more as I have time and I'm planning on doing Rojava soon, I'm especially fond of how they organized their community in regards to police etc., something we could learn from and apply in the future.

f6b123 No.7643
>>7512Well, we obviously aren't getting our request anytime soon.
How about we edit the frontpage of the wiki to announce that the wiki is under CC0 public domain?
We can also paste the license in the copyrights page:
https://anarchism.orain.org/w/index.php?title=Anarchism_Wiki:Copyrights&action=edit&redlink=1 839cfc No.7671
>>7643"wiki owner" here. Do it, I think it makes sense. I gave you "bureaucratic" rights on the wiki btw :^)
d555fa No.7672
>>7671> I gave you "bureaucratic" rights on the wiki btw :^)But I don't have an account…
d555fa No.7673
>>7672>>7671Anyway, if any anons with an account could paste this license (
https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/legalcode ) text at
https://anarchism.orain.org/w/index.php?title=Anarchism_Wiki:Copyrights and edit the frontpage with a reminder of the license please do so.
839cfc No.7674
>>7673I just finished cleaning up a few things. I'll do that once I get time.
Anyway, what else would you like to see on the wiki asap? Are there any priority articles?
d555fa No.7675
>>7674I'm planning on writing articles on Bakunin, Free Territory and analyses of various anarchist works as time permits.
If we could get a community account that random anons could use that would be great.

Hey people, we could really use your help with the wiki.
Pick your favorite anarchist and write an article on him/her, please. We need to get going with something.
df8afa No.7762
>>7761Also, what articles would you anons like to see?
839cfc No.7781
>>7762Free territory. Improve Rojava and the spain articles.
927983 No.7953
You all asked for it, and so far the only people who have contributed anything are wiki admin, board admin and myself.
Time to step it up, /anarcho/.
839cfc No.7963
This wiki should be spread to all anarchist circles I suppose. But the then obvious, how is this different from anarchopaedia?
4846bb No.7964
>>7963>anarchopediaI don't see how they are significantly better. They are a promise of a good wiki, much like ours.
839cfc No.7987
>>7964Yeah, that's the thing. They are the same as us, except they actually have a domain name and their own server.
In any case, I am not trying to discourage the anarcho wiki. Just trying to give it a purpose. Is it a anarchist wiki for the chans?
6a5a18 No.7998
>>7987Ours don't have to be an encyclopedia. A wiki is just a tool for collaborative text editing, the content can be anything.
cdad7b No.8000
>>7987Anarchopedia is a mess. If having your own domain/server is really useful in practice I'd rather migrate the /anarcho/ wiki.
Also, we have a coherent licensing policy, and a semblance of coherent wiki structure, so that's something I guess.
The idea of the /anarcho/ wiki was to be a resource guide for anons.
