Cops lives matter. Most of them (in western countries) genuinely are trying to help. Even if they weren't, their lives would still matter- everybody's life matters.

Cops are people, they may not be bad people or good people but they are people.

However, does this mean the police as a whole are not tools of the state to enforce what the state want them to enforce, never minding the ethical or moral implications? No. The police are our enemy, but they are people, but then again Nazis are people too, it doesn't mean you shouldn't blow their brains out over the pavement.

Of course, the problem is when making a connection between the whole and the individual. I wouldn't consider a cop who is one because he thinks that he can help his community the same as one who take pleasure at beating or killing people, even if both belongs to an institution that must be abolished.

Im not saying the cops on an individual level are bad human beings because they are cops, they aren't. But does this change the fact that the will use violent means to enforce the will of the state? A distinction must be made on whether or not it is appropriate to use force against force, they push us we push back. When it comes down to it, you cant tell if a cop or quite frankly an anarchist is a good person but when it gets down to the nitty gritty the police can/will use violence on use regardless of whether or not we are good people or they are good people, it doesn't matter to them, theyll still beat you or throw you in a cage or kill you.

There have been good people and bad people on every side of every conflict that has ever existed, maybe a bit more here and there but they still all blew each others brain out completely disregarding whether or not the other sides individuals were good people.

Even with the best of intentions they are still our enemy, intentions don't men much in the end, its what they do that matters.
