For example, in a small commune, there's a law where there's gun control, most of the people started disliking that idea, so they all immediately started like some kind of referendum (in which they vote if they want to abolish all gun control) and all the people of the small commune voted

90% voted yes

10% voted no

Now the law has been changed and the small commune has abolished gun control

For workplaces I don't have a concrete example, can anybody provide one?
