We have been seeing many spectacular presentations of life, and our lives have not been real. The presentations have gotten so far out of control that even the liars are lying to themselves!
It has long been said that money generalizes need and work so much that common interest and mutual dependence animates the "dead". We are not the ones who are living. Our lifeless productions are, and the broadcast unites us despite our irreconcilable differences. In the manner that prices and sales justify social relationships, images tell us how our relationships are justified.
The spectacle was planned and implemented like a blueprint and a 3D model for a global construction and development project. The market needs to shout this unreality to affirm prefabricated demand and constantly justify the system. The spectacle portrays the dominant system of production, and that system has the ultimate goal of producing that portrayal. The false is a real product while real people contemplate, absorb, and align themselves with the spectacle.
