Welcome to the 8chan /ancap/ board, a platform dedicated towards anarcho-capitalist theory and praxis.

Recently I claimed this board and I'm now in control. I've decided that when posting in official capacity, my name will be "ribati-sama."

Edit: scratch the name thing, figured out how to post as board owner.

Anyway I have a lot of ideas for this board but they're success will mainly depend upon user interaction and enjoyment of the ideas. So here's a list of potential areas of growth.

-A libertarian reading club/book-of-the-month or even book-of-the-week.
-Ancap representation in chan culture; i.e., ancap factions in 4craft (or 8craft if that exists), involvement in >>>/sen/, etc.
-Vibrant discussion and debate of ideas, including with reasoned opponents of libertarianism or anarchism
-Guides for newcomers
-Reading lists/news in a libertarian view

By the way this is a work safe board. If you think that's a problem or anything else, please voice your thoughts.

I like your ideas. The only issue I see is that it seems most of our would-be participants prefer to troll AnComs on /anarcho/.
Perhaps we need to arrange a marketing campaign?

I went to those boards a long time ago…like a few months ago when infinitechan's popularity shot up. They weren't my thing because the board and its owners seemed pretty intolerant to opposing views. That also applies to /leftypol/ and some other boards I checked out.

What kind of campaign are you thinking?

Not sure. Probably something along the lines of:
"wanna put your (non-fiat) money where your mouth is? Come join us on /ancap/ and get in on the ground floor of liberty!"

I'm open to suggestions for amendment. I contend that the basic point should be focusing on actually building solutions and getting things done instead of playing chess with pigeons.

I know I've got a bunch of ideas that I'd love to discuss with people who know more than I do. I want to leverage the power of marketing in order to sell people liberty for less than what they're already paying for slavery.

Sounds good. You can reply with an email address if you want to get in contact.

I'm very down for a book club. I'll suggest the Machinery of Freedom by David D. Friedman for the first book we read.

here. Just wanted to check in and say that I haven't abandoned ship. It's finals week and my cumulative engineering exams aren't going to study for themselves.

I was thinking we'd be doing our discussion here. I hadn't thought about sharing personal contact information, but I suppose it might be helpful for coordinating. Still, call me paranoid, but I'd prefer to create an email address that doesn't have my actual name all over it first.

"Chan culture" is garbage; we should stay away from such baloney.

>sell people liberty for less than what they're already paying for slavery

How can we do this? I like the sentiment. I'm guessing that the solution lies in effective use of computers?

>>243
What makes you say that, specifically? Do you think it has any potential to improve?

No, there is not.

I would say that the effective use of P2P technologies is a major component of it, and may in fact form the backbone of a broad strategy. Some excellent examples of this are unSYSTEM and Bitnation.

I'd like to see these initiatives grow and mature, but I'm personally more interested in bridging the gap between these blockchain-enabled functions and the production and distribution of physical goods and services. I want manufacturing, shipping, defense, and so on, powered by the blockchain and operating in meatspace. This would seem to involve incorporating the distributed architecture into these activities in order to address their vulnerability to state repression.

Posted this elsewhere (my bad, should have been here), but I was thinking a best of the week post from S. Molyneux and/or Tom Woods would be a nice idea.

The guide/FAQ idea is a good one IMO, related, see http://tomwoods.com/resources/
