 No.271

Let's set up an ancap city on the east coast of honduras.

 No.290

Sounds good, you own the land by any chance?

 No.292

Sorry, that was douchy of me..

Put more kindly, how would you propose to gain total control of the land as to execute your plan?

 No.360

look for investors and build a city . After that is done we reach out to corporations to set up manufacturing plants in our city, promising them safety and a tax free haven. We funnel the corporate money to our defence program which will work to fight off criminal gangs and eventually the honduran government. The honduran people will rally behind us as we offer them protection ( honduras has the #1 homicide rate in the world) from criminals and the corrupt police. Our corporate partners will offer them jobs ( in a country with 50%+ unemployment.) when the state comes looking for their money, we done give them nuffin.

Win win

 No.363

I think you would have trouble getting control of the land from the honduras gov't, contrary to leftist propaganda (see Tom Woods summarizing the situation here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvCAXWekjw0 (25 mins)), honduras is not so liberty-friendly at the moment.

thats why we gotta play by the rules at first. once enough support is gained we can hold them off via international pressure, and public opinion. no one is happy with the situation in Honduras right now. its one push away from becoming a clusterfuck that the government cant handle.

Presumably if the Honduras government could ever not handle it there would be an invasion to restabilize the country by a neighbor or some kind of UN action. Or maybe not.

I'd rather get a boat. Then if things get shitty I can just leave.

 No.493

Honduras is one of the top murder capitals of the world. I don't think it would be a solid choice for building up a libertarian community. There is a lot of political dancing and sociopolitical engineering which would need to be done in order to effectively spread libertarian ideology. Not only do you have the cartels, many rivalrous gangs, police and military peppered with people loyal to vastly differing interests in massive positions of power, but invasive power struggles and straight war against the community by multiple means of subterfuge would be the least of the communities worries.

>>492

I agree.

If things went anywhere outside of the interests of the Honduran government and/or the United Nations, the place would be systematically and sporadically destabilized. Just look at Somalia. They speak of the Islamic militants, but they don't talk often of the dumping of garbage and thievery of resources which alternatively occurred as fuel for its impoverishment and radicalization. http://politicalaffairs.net/somali-piracy-predictable-result-of-global-exploitation/

Hey guys…

Liechtenstein recognizes the right of secession. What if we took up residence there and voted to secede? Then we could form whatever kind of community we want, and it won't be in a violent shithole.

I've never heard of the place. Looking it up, Liechtenstein appears over in Europe, squeezed in-between Switzerland and Austria. It happens to be one of the top richest places in the world. It's also a monarchy.

Personally, I share the idea that constitutional nations are sub-par in comparison to monarchical societies. At least, violations of personal and civil liberties are acknowledged as repressive behavior, whereas constitutional violations are legitimatised by back-door phraseology and further empowered by "specialist" readings of legalese.
