With statists, that is one of the biggest topics that I come across. It's almost to the point where their entire frame is based on the social contract. It's can come off as a religion.

I've felt that way too. A lot of it is cognitive dissonance. They talk about freedom but they usually stop short of pointing out the contract's limits.

Every night, I light candles to his name. He was a badass advocate for understanding the repressive nature of institutionalized regulation, of how regressive laws were set up for the benefit of monopolies. It's a damn shame that he lost the battle with his post office; it would've changed so many things. What is your criteria exactly for "accept the protection of the police"? What does "not accepting" it entail? I'm certain we have different definitions here.

I don't willingly accept their services. I work around the fact they exist, like bad weather.

Totally irrelevant. If someone declared it illegal to eat cockroaches, does that mean you accept their legal system because you don't break that law?
