The terms "Right-wing" and "left-wing" refer to the Revolutionary French parliament, and where they sat. Those who generally wished for a society without hierarchy and class sat on the left. Those who wished for a society with clearly defined "have's" and "have not's" sat on the right side. The strength of authority was not factored in, but on all fronts it was probably slightly libertarian, as the French had just fought a revolution against a strong authoritarian king.
The top spectrum is sorta correct, but too broad to be useful. (State) communism is not necessarily liberal, nor is fascism necessarily conservative. In fact, Communism brought back the authoritarianism of the Russian czars back to prominence, and fascism tried a new model of government which had never been seen before! Communism is, however, very left, in most all its forms. It is an authoritarian left- the kind which strictly demands equality and nothing else. Fascism, on the other hand, designated a "master race" to be above all the others. This is right-wing, but an authoritarian right- the kind which strictly demands inequality and nothing else. Although the Democrats are center-left, the Republicans are center-rights, and the moderates are centrists, they are not related to the extremes. Communism and the Democratic Party are not closely related in terms of doctrine, nor are the Republicans and Fascism.
The bottom spectrum seems to gauge the strength of authoritarianism of each group. That is not related to being left or right! Yes the communists and National Socialists did have a great deal of authority over both their regimes, but the Communists were left-wing, and the National Socialists were right-wing. The next four to the right, Socialist, Liberal, Moderate, and Conservative, don't really deserve to be ordered. There are liberal (bleeding heart) libertarians as there are liberal authoritarians, and conservative libertarians as there are conservative authoritarians, and same with moderates. The crucial difference between those three is their social norms. Liberals have their very specific vision of absolute tolerance for all, Conservatives have their very specific vision of monogamy, and moderates have their very specific vision of a house built on top of a fence. They should really be stacked on top of each other, and be stretched from where "Liberal" begins to where "Conservative" ends. "Socialist" should really stretch the entire spectrum. Pic related.
Every single day in the United States, I see the terms "left" and "right" being used and abused. This kind of gross simplification creates a false sense of understanding amongst the population. If you want your flavor of anarchism to ever see the light of day, then you need to take action, and the first thing you can do is to stop spreading lies and simplistic infographics. Don't spread this one either.
