I thought lain was boring initially but the more I thought about the show the more I loved it. I loved EoE and Spice &Wolf. As for the rest I loved them since they stuck out in my mind.

I want to check the new show by Dogakobo since I've enjoyed the other stuff they did recently. I think they might be a studio to follow. Their stuff doesn't stand out but is fun.
Overall the season looks pretty good, at least in the moeshit department. There are two recap movies. Not sure I like that trend, but I'll watch the Titan one. As for the rest, I'll wait to see the reactions and pick up anything that looks like it might be interesting.
If you asked because you'd like to discuss airing shows, I'm up for that. What are you going to watch? Perhaps we should make season chart threads.

Madoka is my favorite, though it's a very nonstandard mahou shoujo. There are not many good ones. Most of them are targeted at small kids. I believe Nanoha was the first one to target an older audience, but even then it starts as a fairly standard monster-of-the-week show. There's Moetan which has some of the boldest loli service of any anime. Fate/kaleid has been pretty good so far. None of these are groundbreaking, but it's worth the watch if you like the magical girl aesthetic.
Haven't you watched any as a kid? I loved Sakura when I was like 8. I also had to watch Tokyo Mew Mew secretly because I was embarrassed by how girlish it was. Sakura didn't have this problem because everyone liked it.
