Decided to get around to reading this thread.
I see there's a ton of introductions from people that never showed up again. Also that you kept pointing people to the "current" thread and expecting them to post in it.
I don't think you guys realize how difficult this community is to get into. The way everyone seems to know each other so well, combined with the fast pace of the active thread is alienating. At least that's what I feel is the cause.
This might actually have been your salvation since it keeps the community from diluting itself.
But if you want to attract more people, it'd be best to try changing some things. I would suggest having more parallel threads that don't get taken over by "current-thread" posting. You can see, for example, that I had much more success posting on the 3x3 thread.
Incidentally, the reason I decided to stick around here is that this place reminds me of a small community I enjoyed being a part of long ago. It was great fun. However as new people joined it, the old members started leaving one by one until it became something else entirely. From what I got from you guys, it seems this actually already happened at least once here.
