I've kept the plane steady, but I've not taken off or landed. Getting a license seems like such a hassle, to be honest, and I'd only ever fly my dad's airplane, so I see little reason for it. I gave no tips. You're just entertaining me to be nice. But that's okay. It's very kind of you.
I liked the way it was about fate and destiny and adversity and stuff. Like, Kafka of course has his prophecy and his father has his flute and Oshino has his transhomosexuality and the woman whose name escapes me at the moment has her dead bf and Nakata has his quest and his friend has… something. It's like a catalogue of the different ways of approaching shit life throws at you, I guess.
But the thing about magic realism works is the symbolism isn't very coherent. Like, one thing may be a symbol whereas another is just a random association or way to move the plot forward or whathaveyou. It makes it hard to actually draw up an analysis as opposed to works where the metaphors and symbols are obvious and clear cut. Everything is very muddled. And of course I read it weeks ago at this point and any thoughts I have have lost their salience.
But yeah, it was fun. The fact is wasn't 100% percent saturated verbosity and metaphor and dense paragraphs was a nice change from Blood Meridian and whatever else I was reading beforehand. I don't usually read books like that.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. One of Murakami's great strengths, I think, is that his characters don't make a huge fuss about the strange things happening to them. They charge ahead and just deal with it, because what else can they do? And the muddled symbolism lends a dreamlike quality I admire. His books are dreams. That simple. I think you'd really enjoy The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle as well.
A Tale for the Time Being focuses on two stories. One concerns a Japanese girl whose diary washes ashore in Canada after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, and the second concerns the woman who finds it and her personal quest to find the girl and her great grandmother, a Buddhist nun. It's gorgeous and sad. I found it by accident, which makes reading it an even greater pleasure.

Yup and that's really nice! You should totally play STALKERSOUP for ShoC. It's changing everything. Adding every location from ALL Stalkers and new story and so much more! You should give it a go. Also, it's for 1.0006.
>>506993
I dunno if you will be able to get weapons here but heh, that's good! Hope you will find some, if you will even be able to pay for them and get them.

Sure did, but last night was a mix of vodka, a shit ton of beers and some kind of leftover party cocktail mix, which contained even more vodka and absinthe.

I'm not sure which is the prettiest thing there, the UGM-27 Polaris, V-2 Rocket or that 800mm "Dora" shell.
>>507002
I checked it out, doesn't really seem to be doing much for the difficulty level.

The money isn't the problem. It's the international regulations and current condition of global trading rights that's the problem.
>>506992
No. You get a house full of winged robot females with gorram nuclear reactors for hearts and nobody cares when their primary relief valves lift, because that's obviously not a problem. They can eat food and shit so that must mean that their cores are always covered. Oh yeah, and you won't get any peace and quiet because apparently one of them is some superweapon that doesn't want to be a superweapon no more.

G'night! Don't let the dreams consume you!

V2. It's the V2. It's fricking genesis. But the Polaris is also pretty neat. 41 for freedom, baby!

Hm. I haven't ever stolen a book, but I did steal a Tigger doll from my babysitter's daughter when I was 7. I felt so guilty about it that I buried Tigger in my back yard. Then I felt guilty about that and sneaked him back into his home. I saw him the trash the next day because the babysitter didn't want the kids playing with a dirty toy. She could have just washed him, the monster.
