How do I find the price range for each studio?
price range for 1 episode, 13 episodes, 26eps and how many frames do they usually work with.

Can you elaborate?
Are you talking about the cost of work force from a studio?
Regarding the frames they usally work with, check >>68

Hmmm

Good question! The asses never leave their prices out otherwise they'd be too easy of a target for oh no potentially getting hired, how horrible.
You have to call them as a serious company executive and ask them about the price ranges. Dollars/1 second of animation. If 24frames or 30, or something higher. 13-26 episode deals, if it's 10minutes or 20 minutes. I think they might price you more for custom one-shot projects rather than for seasons. Depends on the studio's planning.

They don't leave prices out like that because it's not a consumer service. Company to company interaction is different than going to the store and buying shit.

That article says no such thing is happening, though.

Animation should in fact be consumer service. Especially considering kickstarter and other crowdfunds. Do animation studios even receive revenue to always want to work for tv channels?

Ahahahahaha…
>Anime
>Animation
Pick one.

Also the pic is obviously fake. The prices are too fixed.

The price range is between 3.000 to 15.000 per minute.
And with 5.000 you can get much, much smoother animation than anime.
With 10.000 you already get Disney quality tv shows. Animation isn't as expensive as all these farts like to believe. Hell animators often get underpayed a hell lot.

Anime has a bunch of talented animators, most of them are directors now though. I think it's owed to their different structure.

Instead of assigning an animator to each effect or character most of the time, japanese animators have to handle both characters and effects. They also have to time scenes in different perspectives and focal lengths too. Timing characters in animated perspective or 3 point perspective with wide angle lens projection is much more harder than timing characters in atmospheric perpsective with the human eye projection.

I recommend Hiroyuki Okiura or Kazuhide Tomonaga (animator of the Castle of Cagliostro carchase scene).

I'm interested in knowing the price ranges and how much to pay each animator, storyboard artist, background artist. Are timing editors needed?

A millionaire could hire some drawfags and animation studio for comic books and a few episodes.

Honestly you should pay them depending on how well they do.

Work it out with each person individually and work it on your budget.

an easy starting point is the Animation Guild's wage survey.

Well it fucking should be consumer service, what with crowdfunding and independent artists getting more popular by the year because of the economy crysis.

Animation is hell of a lot work and requires a lot of skill to do properly. The demand is miniscule since the price ends up being way above consumer levels. Prices also vary massively depending on what kind of animation you're looking for.

Also if you commissioned an animator/studio, they would be essentially out of order for weeks/months while they do your thing, which would make it not easily serviceable.

That's why if you want an animation, you call up an animation studio and discuss the details with them so they can let you know what they can/cannot do, and what it would end up costing.

There's plenty of artists that you can commission few seconds long animations from though, because it's much simpler to put into sales terms.
