Do you enjoy animating?
When I see the pictures I drew frame by frame and they finally start moving, I get really excited.
But the process of animation as a whole sometimes feels like a chore or boring.
Is there any way to be interested throughout the whole process or is it one of the cons of animations?

I for some reason can get super into tedious work while I am doing. Like you said, seeing things come to life while doing keeps me going a lot too. Also I usually have fun drawing if things go smoothly.
Sadly getting started is my problem. I will get something roughed out and hate it and give up. I have actually gotten worse because I have not done proper work in a year.

It's like Dark Souls for me. I enjoy animating well, but I hate poorly animating and drawing.
I should do more studies, perspective exercises, and use more tools like perspective grids to complete my stuff.

>>265Yes and no. I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it. It is sort of like a video game for me; it stinks when you are trying really hard to animate something and it just won't work out, but when it comes out good, it feels extremely rewarding.

This guy konjak is a really good pixel animator, and yet apparently he HATES doing animation. He got good at something he hates in pursuit of his goal, game development.

Why not watch some movies, guys? You could learn a lot about film and storytelling from someone like hitchcock. Maybe rip the audio track and do something with it?

I normally feel at home animating, for me its all about the process and non of the technical shit. However I do agree that the technical shit is required in some places, I generally like monitoring the progress as a means of motivation. A good way to speed up the process is playing documentaries of great pioneers like Fleischer and Iwerks, or simply listening to your favorite animators shoot shit off, thats just me though.

I enjoy all of it, I just don't have the time…

At least I'll be able to pay off the debts I collected for my unfinished biochem degree.

Fuck yeah I do. It's fucking awesome to be able to make something that moves and think of ways to do so.
On the other hand, I don't think my drawing skills are good enough for me to be able to enjoy it as much as I could…
