Can we have a thread about our lord and creator Walter Disney?

7ab15c No.331

He's more of a shallow idealist rather than an animator and talented story teller.
All of his movies are about alternate interpretations of old stories which didn't belong to him.

He didn't really have much of a craving for ideas he desperately wanted to tell and create franchises around each of them. He started off with the generic comedy characters that were popular around that time. Otherwise he never created new ideas like the cape comics.

He wanted to build an entire city similar to an empire rather than a simple joy-ride amusement park before he died.

If anything Walter and his company are more about technical advancements and monopoly rather than artistic integrity and originality.

i agree. he is an inspiration to business men rather than animators. most movies are re-tellings of already popular stories. Disney stayed for the most part in a safe ground improving on what others were doing at the time on a technical level. adding sound for instance was one of his first victories against Felix the cat. then came color and so on.

we can talk about the animators he employed and the techniques they implemented, that would be more our thing.

Walter hated animation and saw it as nothing more but a cash cow to supplement live action crap.

I'm so glad his gambits with mixing live action with toons failed while his underfunded almost poverty tier studios succeeded.

>being this fucking stupid

Look it up, he seriously underfunded all of his animation team and productions while giving heaps of cash to his mish mash of animation with live action crap.

In fact he wanted to learn how to use cartoons as a cheap way to make special effects.
