This is a thread for posting your own animation and for giving useful feedback. Feel free to post whatever you're currently working on, wip or finished, it doesn't matter.
No.52
Since the anons in the other thread are mostly posting other people's animations. I want this thread to be basically a draw thread but with animations rather than static images. If you feel like it's a duplicate thread you can delete it if you want.
No.53
Here's what I did today. Just practicing a simple run since I'm really rusty and haven't animated in months.
No.55
>>51Neat.
>>53Holy crap, that's so good.
Which medium/program do you use?
I use Flash and it doesn't really give me the lines I want.
No.56
>>55Flash can get you them lines if you use the pencil tool, but you need to tweak it.
Method one: Select the pencil tool and set it to ink mode.
Method two: Select the pencil tool, set it to smooth mode and adjust the smoothing level to 0, or your own personal preference.
You also want to set the stile to hairline.
No.59
>If you feel like it's a duplicate thread you can delete it if you want.
Technically it's not a duplicate thread if it pertains to only OC.

Wow there is some major talent in this thread.
I am pretty much just starting out and have not been motivated lately but here is something I did my first semester.

So does everyone use Flash to make animations?
Is there anything simpler for people to use for quick animation work (something that is to Adobe Flash as Paint is to Photoshop)?

Just a 3d exercise. It's veeeeeeery hard not to become on-model with them.

at first it's a bit hard to tell what's happening without looking at the filename, you should have drawn what he's interacting with in a different color or lower opacity. also watch you volumes it looks like he turns into liquid or gets flattened at then end, or maybe it was intended to be that way?
No.528
>>527
thanks for giving input! i was afraid about using too much construction because i thought that it would look incoherently messy, but it still didn't turn out good lol
you're definitely right about me needing to use more volume and form. the character was supposed to crouch, jump, grab the top region, and fall down, but I didn't portray it well. im going to try using tvpaint now i feel awful for being a pirate though ;__;

I worked pretty hard on this but I still need to work on animating with speed and consistency.
Posted this as a response to a /co/ thread a while ago.

I honestly think that the animation is fine, albiet is a bit stiff. My biggest issue with it is just the exclamation mark. As the previous anon said, you can barely notice it.
Us being animators we can notice it, but normalfags…

Sorry for the week late response.
Usually I just pre-plan the idea before I do any drawing, make sure the project is planned for every aspect. Once everything is accounted for, just go in for the kill and start drawing.

thanks
I know that the positioning & the sizing are way off what they should be, but I've been working on a second one that looks much better so far
i'll probably post a gif of it up here after I get past the stick figure phase
unfortunately, I can't put as much time into this as I want. I've got to both job hunt & work on finals ;-;
still, I can finish the second one & most likely start on a 3rd one before my time's fully taken

nothing's wrong with it. I with a company's decision to offer access to their product for via subscription-based models
but if it's the only way to gain access to the latest software, I don't support it. call me a materialist, but I actually like owning my software
it's basically the same reason I've been looking for a substitute for flash. I don't care how good the software is, but I won't get it if I can only get it via subscription

>Is there a big difference between Flash CC and CS6?
No not really, CC just gets the bug fixes.
>>715
Working with the frames are pretty good, but you need to follow the "Solid drawing" principal if the changing volume wasn't intended.
The motions are pretty nice and the character's actions are comprehensible.

God dammit kikewheels, anyhow I meant to post the following…
I recently remember a trick the lead key animators for 08th MS team and 0083 did. I'll make a highly repeatable face and body walk cycle and then copy paste as much as possible while maintaining the limbs as dynamic yet on model as possible. Thanks to GIMP'S resize tool the amount of redraws I do will go down as well.

Don't worry, you'll get the grip of it. I recommend practicing daily 30-60 second gestures with it to get a good feel for them.

Major props for doing gun fights and having dynamic camera, it's rare to see them in animation.
>>757
I really want to do gunfights and fight scenes so badly after seeing so much cinema, but I'm afraid of being a weak draftsman. I should just get over it and wing it though.

Probably add an "up and down" motion to the arms.

What did you use to export this GIF? There is a flashing of your vector nodes in one of the frames, which would indicate a bug that would want to be reported to the software developer. :)
