Animator's Survival Kit is a good book to start with.

survival kit is great.
character animation crash course by eric goldberg is my favorite though.
cartoon animation by preston blair is staple.
the animator's workbook by tony white is good for starting out too.
in terms of drawing force by michael mattesi is great along with drawn to life: the walt stanchfeld lectures.
