http://animationnation.com/content/h1-b-visa-news-displaced-disney-worker-testifies-us-congress

The national attention that H1-B Visa abuse has garnered in the US lately has finally made it to Capital Hill in Washington DC.

Leo Perrero is the former Disney employee who is leading the effort to put a spotlight on how damaging the practice of replacing American workers with workers imported into the US has become.

The Disney Company that has for a long time been among the most egregious abusers of US law in displacing highly competent long term employees with H1-B visa guest workers. Domestic US employees are forced to train their replacements as a condition for receiving a severance package.

>We were given 90 days notice by a prominent Disney executive that we were going to train our foreign replacements. If we didn’t do so, we wouldn’t receive our severance package. Over that 90-day period, they recorded everything we did with the audio and video on our computers, and right at the end, we were ushered out the door. And the foreign workers that were flowing in just weeks before took over our jobs, and we were long gone.

>It was the most humiliating thing I’ve ever gone through. It really challenged my patriotism, because I felt like I was selling out my country like a prostitute, taking money in exchange for selling out my country. It was just utterly humiliating. It was torture. Every single day I was going through it — it was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through in my life.
