Deception Island looks like a really interesting place. The caldera looks like a safe harbour, it has geothermal activity. Hopefully it doesn't decide to erupt, though it's not too active.

Yeah it's the most ice free of the island chain so would be easiest to build on. Abundant geothermal energy too. Very small though but a nice location

King George Island is the largest and has some nice natural harbours for developing. More ice cover than the smaller islands though.

Potential for growth is low, and the active volcano deal isn't really the best thing in the world.

There are several active volcanic regions across Antarctica. These present an opportunity to generate heat and electricity for settlers, similar to how this is used in Iceland. This would be very good for the natural environment and produce much less pollution than other ways of generating electricity.

If we can get a decent power supply from it then i don't think we'd have any other issues with enough electricity we can easily set up farms with artificial light so food won't be that much of a problem the hardest part would be getting the people and the funding and the first few years would be quite harsh
