> No, the test is to determine if the person doesn't see any real difference between the lever choices, making them a sociopath.

Oh boy… I think I'm a sociopath then. My position is that it's a situation with no right answer, it is clearly wrong to sacrifice the one persons life for the other 5. But doing nothing is materially the same as sacrificing the 5 for the 1.

There is no absolutely ethical decision to make.

The best I would hope for is that in not switching the track the guilt is on the mad philosopher, not on me. I'm not culpable for his evils, where as if I actively chose to sacrifice the 1 person I am at the least guilty of that.

e5aa35 No.585

It´s not a psychopath test it´s an actual moral dillema meant to highlight the difference between catagorial imperative and pragmitism.
Some people would willingly let the five people die because they do not want to make a decision like that and other people would feel no guilt choosing the lesser of two evils. (Or they do feel feel guilt but don't classify it as real guilt only "actor-regret" and would feel even guiltier about failing to act.)

96dcb2 No.593

I do nothing and the ones who have been chosen to die, die. Simple.

You cannot 'save' someone from something that will happen anyways. Besides, death is about as bad as stubbing your toe.

are any of the 5 people Rothschilds?

Is the mad philosopher just called mad because it's what they want you to think?

Is a man worth more than 5 others based on merit, or are those 5 others worth more if they are to be even better for this instant?

b03975 No.608

A lot of people here do not understand the concept of thought experiment… Ofc there is always a third way, but that is not the purpose of this.

In more classical approach, the second scenario is dropping the man from a bridge, so that the train driver has time to react and stop before the 5 people further down the track. Either way, for the sake of this experiment, it is assumed that pushing the man guarantees stopping the train.

There is also one more variation, in which the five people are trespassing, whereas the single person is a railway worker (using a drill, etc. so he can't hear the train) working a scheduled maintenance.

Good evening gentlemen.
I feel that I want to write, to ask things that I simply cannot understand. I'd advice to avoid answering these questions unless you really know the answer. I understand you want to help, but boosting your ego trying to prove something, while in turn helping the evil agenda to post disinformation on the Internet, will not help anyone. Instead, ask questions and be curious.

>1. What is a solid meditation technique that will eventually reunite man with the Higher power?

>2. The creatures one can see through the pineal gland, are these demons, aliens or 4th dimensional creatures?

>3. What is a solid method for learning how to travel in the astral, etheric and the inner?

>4. What is the ultimate truth about our existence and the mythology of dieties? (Do we exist because we are slaves to loosh energy vampires, random evolutionary chance after a big bang, God split itself in billions of pieces to play hide and seek with itself or another reason?

>5. Why is our mind "The sculpturer and the marble"? Why are we allowed to create a reality but limited to create it instantly?

>6. What is the ultimate diet for attaining spiritual unity? Is it possible to live without eating?

The beings are actually 5th dimensional and upward until roughly 7 or so, it is very hard without the right sort of fasting to get past the 8th, you would have to fast as long as Jesus or at least Buddha to get past this one I assume and probably no-fap as well. I highly doubt you can get past even the 6th that far unless you have no-fapped for a week (the days were numbered in 7 long before Christianity by more than just the Hebrews)

It is very hard to fast for longer than the Buddha as a person born of a non-virgin mother I assume, or one who has not kept themselves pure for long enough. Once Buddha fasted for long enough he was confronted by very powerful entities and tried to be kept down in our realm more, eventually meeting one of his trinity and asked many questions.

About a year ago i read a book (William G. Gray - Magical Ritual Methods)
This book states that a Circle Dance (like used in Rituals) is not that big of a difference from a Large Hydron Collidor
He didnt fill out why he thought of it this way so this piece of information was floating in the back of my head for quite a while.
then I learned a short time ago that there is a statue of Shiva standing right in front of the CERN building and Circle Dances can be used in summoning Rituals aswell.
What do you think regarding my thoughts about some people trying to open a gateway to let the "destroyer" and "transformator" into our realm?
Sounds a lot like a conspiracy and yes i read about some of them and many seem real garbage however in case of the "occult conspiracies" i deem it very possible that people are actually trying to manipulate the world not only through Media but through Black Magic aswell

6bfd49 No.588

The statue is an allusion to the primitive explanations of universal machinations and how far we have come since then.

No one at CERN gives credence to ritual magic because they know it is merely an exercise in mental masturbation.

E. A. Koetting, also known as Matthew Joseph Lawrence, is a self-proclaimed left-hand path magician. He makes thousands of dollars selling ridiculously overpriced short stories and teleseminars to gullible people. His business model is simple: convince onlookers that they can become a living god, and make them pay a hefty fee for the privilege.

There are two layers to Koetting's shenanigans. The first layer attracts contemporary devotees of the left-hand path, for it appeals to their childish predisposition toward rebellion and counterculture. By claiming that the powerless can become powerful by way of ulterior means, Koetting attracts egomaniacs in droves.

The second layer attracts traditional followers of the left-hand path and is limited to Koetting's inner circle and business partners. These people are cognizant of the fact that Koetting is a con artist, yet they perpetuate his lies because they stand to make a profit from his schemes. Koetting himself falls into this category.

With Koetting in mind, the left-hand path is nothing more than a reality tunnel for ignorant rebels and con artists. As of 04 December 2014, Koetting is dealing with the fallout of being arrested for drug and gun possession, which makes his lectures on limitless power seem less compelling. It remains to be seen how this turn of events will affect his business model.

However, I do give him credit for having the American entrepreneurial spirit, although he was not intelligent enough to pull it off. I'm interested in how this whole thing plays out.

pastebin.com/usJTPisW <- my full writing

What I share with you is knowledge that took a long time to find amongst books written by the magicians of the old age. It is a gift to those of you who are interested in occultism and bettering yourself. Those who are bored with the meaningless life of the masses and start to question if we are living in an illusion. I cannot convince the hardcore skeptics if they are not willing to believe and spend some of their time reading the books I would recommend. So, that is not my goal. I only wish to help enlighten those who I was like before. Let's begin!

The ignorant who shout that Freemasons are just "old guys getting together for beers and chess" are idiots. It is true that most scottish rite lodges have lost ancient knowledge and have deteriorated to being a social club, but the secret societies that didn't deteriorate are something different. Did you know that in Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia there were great doctors and scientists? Have you ever opened a book written by one of their leaders? Have you ever looked at the recommended reading materials at the last pages? There are hundreds of pages dedicated to biology, evolution, cells and anatomy. And all of this was mixed with astrology and other occult sciences. Psychology plays a big part in the studies too, even nutrition. Those people were not "Luddites" or "tinfoil hats". They were respected doctors and scientists that knew more than you. I am not endorsing you joining such societies though. You don't need to join one to have the knowledge you require. Most of the knowledge is found between their books all ready, published.

These "occult secrets of masturbation" are broscience. There isn't a single fact to back up your claims. In reality, masturbation helps to ward off prostate cancer later in life.

OBJECTIVE: To examine, in a case-control study, the association between the frequency of sexual activity (intercourse, masturbation, overall) and prostate cancer risk in younger men diagnosed at < or = 60 years old.

RESULTS: Whereas frequent overall sexual activity in younger life (20s) increased the disease risk, it appeared to be protective against the disease when older (50s).

CONCLUSION: These findings could imply different mechanisms by which sexual activity is involved in the aetiology of prostate cancer at different ages. Alternatively, there is a possibility of reverse causation in explaining part of the protective effect seen for men in their 50s.

>Routine masturbation makes you more likely to have other sexual partners.

>Masturbation bolsters the immune system and helps fight infections.

>Masturbation keeps your marriage strong, and orgasms raise your self-esteem.

http://psycnet.apa.org/psycinfo/1993-33191-001

>Masturbating at least five times a week decreases the risk of prostate cancer in men.

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.1464-410X.2003.04319.x/abstract

The founder of the modern anti-masturbation movement was John Harvey Kellogg, a religious doctor who pushed for routine newborn circumcision and female genital mutilation in the United States.

/fringe, I have been practicing breath meditation for a while and the best descriptions about the subject are writen by buddhists. So I started to study others aspects of buddhism. The general precepts are very consistent and even similar to the seven hermetic principles, but I have dificult accepting the core of the teachings (the four noble truths, especially the last one). So, what are your thoughts on buddhism?
Also, there is something similar to the four jhanas in western occultism?

Suffering is not something to be avoided, but rather something that should be embraced as a part of a natural cycle. Bhuddists are cowards wishing to escape the cycle, remaining stagnant.

9946b0 No.457

Buddha was very clear that he did not want people to be "Buddhists", or to make his teachings into a "belief". If anyone actually bothered to read his works and the history of he times he was alive, I think his work wouldn't be as maligned as it is.

I agree with his original statements, that suffering is real, and the cause of suffering is attachment, and the only way to end suffering is to end attachment, that's all fine and well. Self reflection and meditation are tools that allow you to take objective looks at things and remove the personal bias and eventually the ego.

The problem I had is that after he died and specifically refused to name a successor, his works were taken and blended in with a variety of cultures and religions to create the main forks that we have now. There is no such thing as reincarnation. Meditation will not give you magical powers. There is no after-life. His statements and teachings are real things that can be practiced and thus, devoid of faith. Study in earnest and stop calling yourself a "Buddhist" because you want a label. An actual 'buddhist' (in the sense that someone learned from his teachings) would never call themselves such. He was quite clear on the way being different for everyone.

Sukha is not exactly suffering, you know.
If being on point, Buddhism is probably the best disorganized/documented way of getting your life right. It is basically the antidote for culture, which also means, since it was designed as a cure for Induist culture it carries a lot of old Induist bullshit with it, like reincarnation and stuff.

It's really just a guy and sometimes a few of his friends explaining their fringe beliefs. I watch it, and I've learned a lot by researching ideas presented in the spirit science videos.
It introduced me to a lot of things that sparked my curiosity, and brought me to my current views on spirituality. I don't think it's disinfo. I think Jordan genuinely believes in spreading a message of love and growth, but he throws a lot of other things in there that get people's panties in a bunch.
I think it's a good message, and taken as ideas rather than claims of undeniable fact, can introduce people to a lot of positive spiritual ideas.

You may actually be able to find them at your local library, depending on where you live. Otherwise, free information websites such as sacred-texts.com are awesome resources where you can research a variety of topics. Hermetic information will probably be under alchemy. Alternatively, if you know how to use torrents these books can be found quite easily.
When I started, I downloaded a few libraries from pirate bay and read dozens of books among the thousands I had at my disposal. Many of them, I know now, were full of useless information. Don't be afraid to ask for opinions on authors, systems, and specific books, because it can save you some time. Don't let other people make your decisions, but if everyone across the board from different beliefs agrees that something is Bullshit, there must be a reason. Also, I strongly suggest you study psychology and philosophy as well. It is one thing to know the way, and another to understand it. You won't change the world by blindly doing what your told.
