I highly recommend you artists rip the art world a new asshole by exposing all the money laundering going on.

It's like ten times a big, so it's going to cost ten times as much. Duh, Anon, that's just how things work.

The left has a cool effect too it; it'd make a nice background, but outside of that there's nothing too interesting.

I agree OP that's some bullshit right there.

From what I understand of Jonathan Speed's book. Art turned into this because art dealers could get a new high profile piece every week with "modern" art instead of having to wait months for a late 19th century style piece. Oh and people despised anything pre WW I&II because "muh system".

Don't remind me, it hurts too much. Maybe one day in the future skill will be valued once again and true beauty will be admired and not edgy statements.

You talk like gerhard richter is a hack who doesn't know what he's doing. Have you ever seen his figurative and photorealistic paintings? Google his name right now if you haven't. Richter is a highly respected artist, and of course these giant oil paintings that's been shown in the top galleries around the world will sell for a lot

so if you can do oil paitings that lets you sell fingerpaintings for loadsamoney?

Yeah, I don't buy into the "yeah, but Picasso could paint4realz!!" line either. Poor effort from highly skilled individuals should be criticized, not celebrated.

well it's an *in* crowd thing with the billionaires and the laundering goes in at the mid-tier who pretend to but just shovel money-in/money-out

usually crap housepaintbrush artists who give local shows w/crabdipbars but already have the drug industry connections lined up internally

banksy is one of them - name is Tristan Mancos & designed most of Peter Gabriel's album art - this is why he spends so much time funning the art industry
