I gave up on that website when all I began to se were ponies, sonic, and hetalia x reader fanfictions flooding the homepage. I use tumblr for my art now, which is somehow a lot better.

I will agree both sites contain a staggering amount of cringe. They key is to follow/watch individuals/communities who aren't autistic lolcows
