I'm poor and need more colored pencils, are there any brands that are good, yet not super expensive? I heard roseart was pretty ok.

My first coloured pencils were faber castell, I remember them working well and being pretty convenient to buy in book and art stores.

It depends on what type of colored pencils you're looking for. If you're looking for a great, serious yet not too expensive colored pencil, I suggest Derwents Coloursoft, and for harder pencils for detail, either the Studio or Artists line, though from what I hear from the Artists, it's too waxy, and you can't reapply color to it more than 3 times without it becoming impossible. But that's what I've just heard. However, if you're looking for pencils to just doodle around in, and maybe occasionally do serious stuff with it, I suggest Prismacolor. Although their quality has went down ever since their manufacturing was moved to mexico, it should still be fairly alright. If you're looking for pencils that are just alright, but also extremely inexpensive, either Crayola or Prang. I've heard some fairly good things about Prang, but I can't fully vouch for them. But other than that, feel free to look at other brands on Amazon and read the reviews, they'll definitely help.

Honestly, Prismacolors are fine. Good quality (very rich, powerful and easily blendable, with some solid lightfastness ratings), reasonably priced, and pathetically easy to find.

If you're super concerned about lightfastness, here ya go:

The only negative about Prismacolors is that it is virtually impossible to sharpen them with a manual sharpener/by hand without losing your sanity (i.e. they're super fragile and easily break.)

If this is an issue, Caran D'ache Pablos and Faber Castell Polychromos are only slightly more expensive, but have much more consistent lightfastness ratings all around, and you can sharpen them by hand without acquiring homicidal tendencies (I personally love the way Pablos handle.)
