Will there ever be an animation critique website as good as pre-2010 Newgrounds?

 No.3500

No. Animation is kill.

 No.3503

I also want to jerk newgrounds. Unlike youtube, it actually promoted new content authors and filtered in tiers. "Under judgement", "best of the day", "the week", "front page", "all time" etc. It was meritocratic and gave a lot of artists an opportunity to build an audience. A hell of a lot more functional than reddit ever was.

How is it even possible to discover new animators on youtube? It just force feeds you ads and algorithmic garbage. Such a worthless website.

The problem with youtube is that it's for any kind of content you can imagine, so self made animations are reeeeeeeally low on the scale of popularity, and it's hard to browse animations because there's no animation section in it as far as I know.

I can't remember the last time I went to Newgrounds, 2008?

Anyway, I miss the old table too. It was functional and really easy to use. You got a sense of the scale of what was being posted.

I've posted some animation on YouTube, but if you're not raking in 100 views per minuet you may as well forget critique. But even then if you get those viewers there would be no discussion.

I makes me really sad honestly, there was really cool shit back in the day. But the single crowning fact about Newgrounds, is just about everyone on that site did everything for free.

It's been changed a bit this year, the judgement system was also changed, but not much worse.

>is just about everyone on that site did everything for free

And it was actually fun.

Haven't been there in years.
