Has anyone had the same problem I have right now? A big mistake I've made throughout my self-teaching is only focusing on drawing. I never color, so when I do try my drawings always end up looking flat.

I've been drawing for years, but less than half that time have I actually attempted to color them. Just wondering if you guys have advice or have experienced the same thing I'm going through right now.

Have you at least been shading, or have you ignored light altogether? Are you willing to share some examples of what you mean?

Literally, I have ONLY focused on drawing. No coloring. At all. Haven't even touched light.

Yikes. If you haven't even been shading your drawings, then of course you're going to be bad at it. It sounds like you should make a point of adding at least some basic shading to just about everything you do from now on. As you've already seen, you're not going to improve by not doing it. Get started immediately.

if you have a firm grasp on form and perspective you can jump straight to light.

Color and texture are entirely different subjects and have little to do with your capabilities as a draftsman.
