Yo /art/ I want to get better at line art on photoshop with my tablet any tips cause I've just started with digital art.

Practice

Use SAI or Krita or something with a stabilizer

I know it's obvious but practising as much as possible is top-tier advice in order to get used to it faster. When i first started i thought that the transition from traditional drawing would be impossible because of how different it felt but i'm fairly decent at it now. Also, watch YouTubers for second hand practise, i find that helped quite a bit.

Step one is having a tablet that isn't way too small. With those tablets the small surface area is akin to having the sensitivity on your mouse cranked very high.

Step two is to do the exercises in these videos like hell...

...to get good at freehand drawing, however with that said, a lot of digital lineart is done using "vectors" which is a process I don't know too much about myself, but I do know you don't need to be proficient in drawing straight lines, curves or ellipses to make use of them.

Experiment with your brush stabilizers.

I have shaky hands and a tiny tablet, so I have the stabilizer cranked up fairly high and just spin/zoom the canvas to get decent lines.

Also something I learned recently on how to easily get sharp points, if you like to do thick outlines like me, is this. And I felt like a complete retard for not learning it sooner.

This has helped a lot.

good advice 'cept the stabilizer part, grind until you draw "stabilized" lines without actually using the thing.

 No.5061

>>5027

This. Stabilization also effects the pressure sensitivity of your lines.

>>4719

Your drawings would generally look more like the first example since there isnt alot of variety of line weight with stabilizing.

Learn to draw by having the good stroke on the first try which mean: no more eraser

Also maybe your tablet isn't good enough.

 No.5074

I find if I use a pencil my linework is good, but I need a stabilizer on to get similar results on a tablet
