Do any of you guys ever destroy your works or recycle them into a new piece of art?

For example I know someone who takes the sculptures that he makes and reuses the armature for something else, or sculpts something entirely different out of something old.

Is it a practice that I should get into?

 No.4867

I don't see any practical reason to seek out to do this.

It's more of an "interesting" artistic thing than anything.

Well, depending on the materials involved it can probably save some money. But really it just comes down to intrinsic cost vs. economic cost.

With drawings, there's no point in destroying them. They better serve as memories i'd otherwise forget.

Sometimes I wonder what will hapen to collection of my shitty watercolors and drawings

 No.4943

I've ripped up a couple old drawings and even burnt one up once. I wouldn't make a habit out of it.
