Since the discussion on that already is derailing the book thread I though it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to the creation of modern sagas, poems and art in general I guess.

Also, it seems people would like to see sagas involving other persons as well, including Hitler. I'm really unsure about this, but I think it might work if it's not judging in any way, so neither positive or negative. But that does absolutely not stop you from writing something. And if no one writes anything, we will get absolutely nothing done, and that would be kind of shameful I think.

So how about everyone here takes some time and puts some work into it. And posts it on here. Remember, this is anonymous and people can only judge the anonymous, so even if you think it sucks, post it. Others then can pick that work up and modify it if they feel like it. I'm pretty sure the Nibelungenlied wasn't written in a day. Also, sharing your knowledge of writing/ with us others would be nice.Eventually the art that reflects us the most will survive.

And for the beginning anything is much better than nothing.

OP of the book thread, thanks for making a separate thread for this. Im glad to see some productive work going on in /asatru/

We should compose a list and decide who should be included. I also think it should be compiled chronologically when were done with it all

Now we know we want to add Hermann, Bismarck, Barbarossa and maybe Hitler.

Can anyone think of anyone else significant to Germanic history?

Rommel (maybe)

I've always admired the Red Baron, he's truly a hero worthy of poem. I could start working in s poem. I just finished the Anglo saxon rune poems and I'm working on the Dream of the Rood, another old Anglo Saxon poem.

I already mentioned the existence of a Bismarcksaga in the other thread, so here it goes:

Basically the Dreyse needle gun, responsible for the surprising victories of the Prussians in 1866 and following, was sold to Bismarck in exchange for his soul by Wotan. The saga (according to my source) says it was not developed by Dreyse, but I like to think Wotan was in someway involved with Dreyse and the development instead. Obviously the original saga involved the devil, but we know better.

That is all I know and all I could find about the saga. So if people want to have a written one, one needs to be written.

Also I will look into alliterations soon and try to explain them in a small text. The rules seem to be very specific, but Wagner already didn't care about them, video related.

I am down to right a saga for Ehrler. What about one for Rommel and the Red Baron? Both are good heroes who served the fatherland, even if Rommel betrayed Hitler (but maybe including him then would make it less Nazi to the ousider)

I got another dumb one here. This one and the one before this one are both in Norse, though the very first one before this here is kind of fucky. My buddy and I have got a third Norse one that we need to record yet, and that one's going to be marginally less dumb than what we've got so far.

Dunno how I never realized it before, but Heinrich von Kleist wrote a drama that might fit. Unfortunately I haven't found a English version.
