Yes, but I'd argue the process has been incrementally reversed by the Reformation, and from the 19th century on this reversal has gradually leaked into the High Church. (though Orthodoxy has been largely spared of this, I'm told).
The only reservation I hold with Codreanu-style Christianity is that it has the same weakness as the Catholic Church pre-Luther: it's still susceptible to misinterpretation and subversion into something less European.
Other than that, a paganism that takes hero worship seriously should have no qualms with a man like Codreanu.
