Shintoism in Japan is practised in conjunction with one or more Buddhist sects, and the rites relating to the afterlife are still the domain of the latter. So yes, practising Japanese believe in the afterlife.

Shinto shrines get to occupy themselves with the fun stuff, like expensive weddings, folklore festivals and coming of age ceremonies.

And if you want a semi-serious answer: the shrines to the ancestors that Japanese tend to have in their homes are a pre-buddhist tradition. IIRC, in the shrine they leave a glass of water and some rice for their deceased family members. So there is a hint of animism there, where death is a spiritual change of clothes, and the dead hang around in the world together with the other trillion or so gods.

I just wanted to talk about Shinto you guys. Maybe talk about some of the similarities between it and Asatru, notably veneration of the ancestors and kin.

In the olden days you could simply move to the countryside to avoid degeneracy, but the way society is currently arranged by moving to rural Wyoming and dropping a half-dozen kids I hardly think it will benefit us. The Amish and Hutterites have the right idea, they have close-knit communities that share a certain social climate that makes traditional life feasible, and their fertility rates are extremely high due to this. First construct these kinds of communities and a high White birth rate will naturally follow
