If the slavs used to be Germanic, why is their religion different? Where did it come from? Would a Slav be able to worship the pantheons of either religion?

>why is their religion different?

It's not. I hope none of you are autistic enough to get hung up on different names and a permutation of certain symbols.

Hammer or axe, Donar, Thor or Perun, why make a big deal out of it? Paganism is supposed to be above that sort of thing.

By the way, the cult of Deus Pater/Jupiter/Thor grew out of an earlier "axe cult", so Rodnovery in a way lies closer to the source of Indo-European symbolism than Asatru. The Romans retained the axe symbol in the fasces. Don't quote me on this, but I wouldn't be surprised if the fasces and the attached consular role had a function in Jupiter's rites.

Something I should point out, among the Finns they have a thunder deity (very similar to Thor) who carries a sledge-hammer in one hand and an axe in the other. It seems to be a fusion of Thor and Perun

Seems like the Finns have always been masters in creating the dankest memes.

Is there an Odin equivalent in Rodnovery? I've pinned it down to either being Rod or Dazbog.

Racially speaking, "slavs" ARE germanic. Period.

there's no such thing as the germanic race. there's a north european race, but germanic is a cultural entity, not racial

it's true buddy. and anyway, i've been to many slavic countries, and i can tell you that eastern europeans have a distinct face shape. they are not all the same as germanics, although more western slavs may very well be.

Mind you that Odin was translated as Mercurius/Hermes/Toth for a reason: it's the deity linked to the initiation cults of the Mysteries, the ones who guarded divine knowledge (aka "magic", runes, math, astronomy etc) and taught them to the worthy ones.

There surely must've been a similar cult in the Baltics and Eastern Europe, but the exact deity may not be obvious to us. E.g. in the first century AD, Odin became the most important god in the Germanic pantheon, but in the greco-roman world the Father in the Sky kept holding that position until the very end.
