Idea lifted from another board I frequent, originally called a "comfy thread." Name changed to better fit this board of course.

Come in, sit down, unwind, pour a cup of mead or ale, tell us about your day. Any interesting experiences that relate to Asatru? Just have a fun day with your family? Coworkers, peers, or otherwise question you about your hammer pendant? Whatever the case, feel free to tell your fellow heathen in this thread.

It's my hope that with this thread we can try to bond better as a community. Especially with all the recent shitposting.

 No.7584

One of the things about my work is I meet a lot of fellow pagans. My co-worker who listens to the same music I do is Celtic Pagan and we usually have a good time drawing parallels to each of other beliefs. One of my bosses was Asatru (he had a valknut and mjolnir tattoo) he and I would talk about Asatru and also recommend beer to each other. Also the fact that I see a lot of people with Mjolnir pendants shop at my work. Which usually leads to an interesting conversation.

It is weird because in the state I live in whites are a minority but seem more proud of their heritage. Whereas the state I grew up in whites where a majority and all of them are either christfags or nigger lovers.

I find it rather comfy to engage in such discussion with fellow Asatruars IRL. On the internet however as you said a lot of shitposters and people who act like their balls are bigger than they actually are.

My hammer pendant gives me a rash on my chest when I wear it. I want to wear it as a sign of my faith, but when I do, it gives me itchy red bumps underneath where it lays on my chest.

It might be because your skin is having an adverse reaction to the metal that the pendant is made of, if it is metal. If it's wood, then I'm not sure how that works.

But if it's metal, try wearing a wooden pendant. Or, don't tuck your pendant into your shirt so much, if you can't find a wooden pendant or don't have the time/skill to make one yourself.

Brian-kun hails from the Akimichi Clan of New Mexico

What work is that?

New Mexico does have a lot of heathens for some reason.

 No.7602

It is because whites are in a minority. The prevailing culture is either Spanish or Native American. Whites try to find culture in themselves therefore you have a lot of white heathens or pagans.

Not to be weird or anything, but are you guys hiring? At my last job I was forced to work with two illegal immigrants who only held me back in terms of productivity. No English, no work ethic, no bueno. This is the RR guy btw.

Always hiring

Fuck, lost my hammer pendant.

At least I still have my Tiwaz rune necklace.

What are some other good symbols to wear? Considering the Valknut or Irminsul.

 No.7674

>>7673

Don't wear the Valknut, wear the black sun or othala instead, also you could try a sowilo necklace if you are brave.

My first pendant did that, and it was a generic one made out of tin. The problem went away when I switched to a custom silver pendant.

My mjolnir is bronze and leaves the skin around the area I wear it green. I do not mind so much though washes off anyway.

 No.7734

>>7694

This is called "bronze disease" (referring to an affliction of the bronze piece, not its wearer) and is caused by formation of copper chlorides, in this case due to reaction with the sodium chloride in perspiration. The effects on the metal are much more destructive than oxidation.

You should scrub off all the green bits you can find starting with a stiff plastic brush and proceeding to a soft brass brush if necessary (no steel brush, it's too hard), and then take measures to shield the bronze from contact with perspiration, such as periodic application of a protective wax or regular application of mineral oil.

Also consider silver – it is nowhere near this much trouble and is much more affordable than gold.

Had a silver one before it cost me 30 bucks then I lost it. I also kind of like the look of bronze. And I no longer wear my mjolnir on my bare skin but over me shirt so there is not contact with my sweat. Although I will try cleaning it a bit as you say.
