Since asatru is not yet very uniform in it's beliefs, the views on actual religion here are varied from culturally aware atheists to full-blown belief in the gods as physical beings.

I believe the three main political philosophies on this board are Natsoc, libertarian, and Odalist.

Much of this board appreciates the words of Varg Vikernes so I'd recommend you watch his videos on YouTube (search Thuleanperspective) but take what he says with a pinch of salt and discuss it here.

The term Odalism was invented by Varg Vikernes and it's derived from the meaning of the "Odal" rune which means "heritage".

I believe the structure of Odalism is you have a king that is chosen by the popular vote of the people. People are bound by honor to not commit crimes (so obviously this system doesn't work unless you're in a racially homogenous agricultural community where everyone adheres to asatru's ideas of honor)

If the king does his job shittily and people agree he's a threat they just kill him and choose a new one.

This has the benefits of the strength of a monarchy without 'muh divine right to rule' leading to a shitty king nobody can do anything about, it has the personal liberty of libertarianism without slavery to corporations, and it has the racial pride and unity of Natsoc.

The only problem is this is not currently implementable.
