Should I have a cooling mat for my 17 inch Alienware laptop or is it ok if I have it on top of a cardboard box or blanket?

It produces fuckloads of heat even though I haven't even played any actual games yet, just been doing internet browsing mostly.

It's a little alarming how much heat it produces.

What's a good mouse also that I should get? I've heard from my dad a wireless mouse doesn't need to be recharged for like a year, which makes me interested in getting one, as I avoided it thinking they would have to be recharged every day.

Blanket? No, it will cause it to overheat. Cardboard box? It should be okay, as long as there is space for the fans to catch air.

>What's a good mouse also that I should get?

If you are going to be playing games, I would suggest a wired mouse so that there is no lag. If you are just going to be browsing, a wireless mouse is fine. But I suppose the biggest factor is your budget. How much money are you willing to spend on a mouse?

Check out this website for a comparison of mice:

I have that mouse but I never used it. I have heard it is good though.

Why do you have a mouse that you have never used?

My parents bought it for me back when I had a laptop but I just always used the touch pad instead.

Come to think of it, I also have a cooling pad that I never used. If only I could send those things to you. I hate seeing them just sit there with no use.

Why in the fuck would you ever willingly use a touchpad when you had the choice of a mouse?

Where do you live?

I had no place to set down my mouse and use it properly. I only ever used the laptop for browsing so it was not a big deal using the touchpad.

Southern United States.
