This board is dead right now, if you want it to live just post whatever space images you have
I'll put up this sticky in case anyone is dropping by, wondering if there is an Astronomy board.
There is, as well as /astro/ and /astr/. There aren't any posts as of yet, the others had one/two. Do check them out, I thought it would be handy to have it named /astronomy/ for people looking through boards.
I'd like this board to be very discussion based, nobody being afraid to ask for help, nobody being
afraid of 'bragging'. It would be incredibly helpful if when you upload a picture, specify what ISO/
exposure length and all that jazz, maybe detail how you spent the evening getting that photo, it
should all be pleasant and relaxed.
If you're here, you like Astronomy, or are looking to get into it. I'll put up a Wiki for sure,
detailing telescope setups for all needs, and information to start you off. Yeah, if you want a chan
board up and running just make a thread. Doesn't really matter what, if you have some pictures upload
them with some text, anything "I took this, really proud and wanted to share" or "I tried taking
such-and-such, but got this, any tips?". Eventually the ball might get rolling, and then if people
drop on by they will see a decent catalogue and be encouraged to post. It's just a matter of getting
it going.
Oekaki is enabled because it's always refreshing to see drawn pictures. For now, threads need a
subject; If you have a bunch of pictures, sure upload them together, but preferably individual
objects being the subject and having their own thread. When searching through the catalogue people
will see "Orion Nebula" and post theirs into that.
Post your pictures! It'll probably end up being a banner. Would like to make them gifs, bear with me.

>>1Brief rules
>When making a thread, there must be a subject, usually the main object in the image>If your image is a collection of objects and so can't think up a subject name, try "Milky way", "Nightsky general", "Deep space general" or along those lines>Not a rule but must be stressed, state methodology used>When creating a thread, only post OC, exceptions are "How do I get images like this" or "Do that and you'll get this", try to credit the OC if you can>when creating a thread, you must not post reaction imagesIf anyone breaks the rules they will be told so or probably have the thread/post removed, not banned.
If anyone says >>>4chan, you will be banned so fucking hard

I'd like to see this board do well. I'll do my best to post some of my shitty images once I'm done with night shifts midweek.
I need to motivate myself to get out there and take more pictures. ;_;
