d0452b No.11375

Another memetic pseudo-religion is beginning right here in our backyard.

http://8ch.net/winterchan/

This sort of reminds me of ebola-chan although that was mostly a joke, and I'm genuinely not sure how serious these people are.

Something to keep an eye on maybe.

7810f1 No.11383

These people are so fucking insane it's laughable. Not something I'd take seriously.

And besides, meme magic isn't advanced enough to cause a global ragnarok.

At least instead of Flavoraid their cult suicide will involve a Feuerzangenbowle.

There is one difference here

Frost demons are really cool

>and the world will be populated by 2 survivors

LOL, religionfags don't know shit about inbreeding.

Some religionfags just don't give a shit about consistency do they?

d4ac75 No.11389

HP Lovecraft would be displeased:

"All I say is that I think it is damned unlikely that anything like a central cosmic will, a spirit world, or an eternal survival of personality exist. They are the most preposterous and unjustified of all the guesses which can be made about the universe, and I am not enough of a hairsplitter to pretend that I don't regard them as arrant and negligible moonshine. In theory I am an agnostic, but pending the appearance of radical evidence I must be classed, practically and provisionally, as an atheist."

2e93fb No.11390

>There will be no shitskins

There won't be any skins. Everyone will be dead.

>Direct descendants of winter chan

You can't repopulate a planet with only the descendants of one person

>The world will be repopulated by two human survivors

You can't repopulate a species with only two people. Plus how would they be the children of winter-chan if they're human survivors as in people who were alive before the world ended

If the gods intend to kill everyone and start anew, they would also have to consider people who have already prepared to survive the end times. This includes everything from governments and militaries with state of the art bunkers to survival nuts.

Also killing off everything is just going to kill off any chances of the humans surviving because every other living thing will die too. Turns out very few species can actually survive in a frozen hell hole. The world won't be able to replenish itself fast enough.

This whole thing is retarded.

I tell you the truth, with nature it is impossible. But with Winter-chan all things are possible.

>Frozen Ash

First of all: Yggdrasill (meaning 'the horse of the terrible one') was a Yew tree, and not an ash

Second: Yggrassill is said to tremble and fall during Ragnarǫk ('the fate of the reigning powers'), not freeze and turn into an icecicle

Sounds like someone couldn't help but take Norse Mythology (as interpreted by Americans), add their /pol/-based world-view (with an unhealthy dose of Christendom), chan culture, and Disney's “Frozen”, turn it into a semi-religious idea/fanfic and put it online for all to see.

Isn't that how it usually happens though?

Pretty much.. All the modern religions are cut and paste appropriations of other creeds.

Very few people fall for the original revelation scam anymore.. so you have to pretend to be building on existing faiths.

Jesus and Mohammad worked this con with Jewish myths.

I doubt it will last until mid 2016.

And their singing anons make me cringe.

Think I should shoot this over to /cow/? There are a lot of mental defections going on here, autism being only one of them.

>freeze the muslims to death

If this winter is so bad that all people who are less used to cold weather will die out, I would think that a bunch of whites would die as well. And I do have to wonder whether /pol/ is ready to make such a sacrifice, perhaps even giving their own lives.

>all of Yurope is nordic

Wut?

>Think real hard about it and it will happen

Bullshit…bullshit never changes

>Some people think that by "creating memes" we may because to cause some phenomenons

Keep spreading that "Brace yourself winter is coming!" Game of Thrones Meme of Reddit. I'm sure the Muslims will be as good as gone in no time.

>Think real hard about it and it will happen

Is it me or has this sort of thinking become more popular ever since the /bane/ plane accident?

7810f1 No.11597

>>11587

The thing is that meme magic is still not a very well understood concept. Trying to do it actively (rather than passively like we've done until now) could either do nothing or possibly go haywire (i.e. /bane/ crashes every plane in the world simultaneously).

b622c1 No.11610

>>11587

I think it started with the Slenderman craze

>Since the creation of Slenderman the character has “gone viral” and spun off numerous art and fiction stories. And some fans of the Slenderman believe that he is real — either existing already from time immemorial, or that he exists now, brought to life by the combined belief of millions of humans in the form of a living creature known as a Tulpa.

I think time and dedication, may influence it seeing has the plane scene has been around for three years, and has managed to retain a considerable amount of practitioners, winter-chan has been around for half a year(i think), and it probably doesn't have has many practitioners yet.

>>11610

Out of curiosity has slender man ever been popular with anons?

8d83ac No.11644

>>11622

I think I've seen images of him, and seen him mentioned on 4chan's /x/ back in the day, but I don't think he had a big fanbase amongst anons, maybe around the YouTube series Marble Hornets (2009)

I think that by the time the Slenderman games came out, and YouTubers like PewDePie did Let's Play of them, most anons had moved on. Anons are kinda like hipsters that way.

fc6b87 No.11667

Y'all know the old cliché: Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they're in good company.

We're going full Poe's Law between satirical belief in the power of memes and idiots who think they can change the fabric of reality by putting texts on images.

If you read about superman on wiki, at first he could only jump far and high, then he could fly. At first he could lift a car, and then he could move a moon. As comic theology evolves, power creep turns above average heroes into gods.

500 years people from now people might worship our comic heroes as gods. All you need is time to forget that they started as stories, and you can have an altar for Captain America, or Iron Man. And if something is old enough, believers can say maybe Iron Man was the manifestation of God, who once revealed himself to us so we would know his will. All evidence to the contrary is the work of H.Y.D.R.A. (A.k.a the devil.)
