I'm starting to develop an elist air against Christians, or a prejudice tbh. I don't want to seriously debate or affiliate with people who possess a model of the world that is below average. I don't want to waste time giving serious thought to the conclusions of people who have already been proven to be unwilling to confront their ideas.

It's not even a matter of enjoying how wrong they are, it's a matter of them having nothing to offer when my view is more nuanced. Whenever they start talking about politics, or economics, or the healthy diet that's been scientifically proven to be the best, I can't help but feel prejudice. I'm even prejudiced against their citations if they offer them.

I think: "If you can't even check the sources of your religion and possess the strength to admit you were wrong, then your mind is vulnerable to all kinds of dogma. Every conclusion you offer is now highly suspect. Get off your soapbox, your voice is just noise that's droning out the voices of reason."

Television and televised politics are also dumbed down to reach the lowest common denominator, with constant references to God, and are not worth my time. I want to lose the TV and live without cable news, and their dumb talking heads. I already don't play many games except Japanese Indie games, because major American games are full of uninspired fluff aimed at the largest audience. This kind of superiority complex can lead people to join cults, or stubbornly believe stupid things though, so I'm trying to decide how to deal with it.

I don't know. The majority of religious people only believe because of emotional and social reasons. It's understandable, but I still feel like I'm in a mad house when I think about it. Religion is obvious bullshit, yet so many people willingly believe it. It's just sad and scary. I don't pat myself on the back for seeing through it though, religion is just one piece of shit on a bigger pile of bullshit. I find it's more important to be a skeptic than an atheist. Atheism is just the result of the skepticism.

>Whenever they start talking about politics, or economics, or the healthy diet that's been scientifically proven to be the best, I can't help but feel prejudice.

You shouldn't, it's a logical fallacy called a genetic fallacy. Just because someone is usually wrong about things concerning one subject, doesn't automatically make them wrong about everything else too.

>major American games are full of uninspired fluff aimed at the largest audience.

What are you 12? Go back to /v/ kid.

Nice trips. But they may not necessarily be ignorant, just comfortable. When you're comfortable you don't tend to question things. If I'm fucking a girl, I'm not wondering what the purpose is, I just want to enjoy it. Same with life, some people just aren't concerned with questioning it much or the impressions placed upon them because they're content enough with it.

All the classmates I've known that were shit in school seem to believe in gods and a lot of the smarter ones. I've known more smart atheists or agnostics than I did theists but just because you're religious doesn't mean you're an idiot. Some just have no motive to question their beliefs.

I resent your last remark as I happily enjoy American games.

I prefer the experience of playing them over another generic Halo 5. I can talk to the developers on twitter, tell them about bugs to patch, work out the meta, and be involved in a small and tight-knit multiplayer communities for these games. Many Japanese Indie makers prioritize an artist's satisfaction over financial success; the author of this particular game said he's not planning on making another sequel to the Suguri series even though it would sell well, because he thinks the story has reached a natural conclusion.

Just like Gaylo is a generic scifi fps.

Its a fps with mass appeal. Americans like FPS, but I've outgrown them. A lot of famous franchises can be traced to the Japanese Indy scene, where budding musicians and artists often freely contribute assistance to games they like.

You're generalizing and that's where you're wrong. It's ok to like Japanese indie games over major American games, that's your opinion. The truth is, some AAA big developer games are shit, but some are great. Some indie games are great, but some are shit. Some American games are shit and some are great, same with Japanese games. Generalizing media like that is just asinine. You can't say "all rap and country music is bad" or "all horror movies suck" without looking like a tasteless opinionated moron. You haven't seen every horror film, or listened to every rap song, so you wouldn't really know. You can, how ever, say "I'm not into rap music" or "I don't normally enjoy horror films" without loosing face.

If you ever feel superior about your taste in vidoegames just remember that you're stupid enough to play videogames.

Also OP is a faggot. As usual.

Rap for the most part fails compared to other genres in terms of complexity due to lacking melody. Just like Indie gaymes fail in complexity for having graphics that are at least a decade behind.

You don't play Japanese Indy games for shallow graphical polish. You play them for the themes, the gameplay, the novel experiments, the creativity, and the uncompromising heart behind them. They're more affordable too, and you feel good when you stop pirating shit and support the honest underdogs. It requires a different mindset, and attracts a totally different community that has fewer consumers, but more creators.

I was going to make a new thread about it, but I think the issue here is kinda related.

And maybe I can address this kind of people here.

So I more often than not used the "atheism" and "atheist" tag in omegle in order to have nice chats

and to filter bots. Recently people in these tags are becoming more rude and anti-social with time.

Here in the picture is my latest chat so far with a recurring stranger that keeps accusing me of

being uninteresting despite making no effort at all to ask anything or say anything and just insulting me

claiming I was a retarded.

In the first chat he simply thought I was memetalking for some reason and ignore me for hours.

The second when I stopped asking question he just said I was boring and ask me to disconnect.

The third one which was just after the second I just disconnected and was connected to the tag again.

I knew it was him/she so I started with a "Hi again", and the stranger told me to wank to illegal porn.

I wish I had the previous chats in order to prove this, but this one should give you a glimpse of what I am talking

about. Perhaps you can see by yourselves use these tags at this time and hour.

And if you are seeing this I just want to say "I know I am a dumbfuck, but why do you need to be a dick?

you could simply disconnect without insulting me. Part of the reason I use these tags is to gain more

knowledge anyway, could you teach me? Or you are just accusing me of what you are?"

Just wanted to say it. I glad that when I became an atheist there was nice people to talk to. If these chats

were my first impression on atheists I think would probably stay as a christian for a while. We need

more empathy.

Ok this is what you do.

Every morning when you wake up, go look into a mirror and tell yourselves this:

I AM NOT ENLIGHTENED BY MY OWN INTELLIGENCE. I AM NOT ENLIGHTENED BY MY OWN INTELLIGENCE.

I would just ignore rude snobs who don't want to talk and walk on. He brings to mind the uncooperative teenagers that fancy themselves enlightened geniuses after reading Atlas Shrugged. They're the fedoras.

>>12696

I can't deceive myself so easily.
