A woman who was dying of cancer guilt tripped us into going to this Catholic church that was built in the 90's for her 45th wedding renewal vows. Does this even look like a church?

Lastly the exterior from the OP…

…matches with its freaky post-modernist neighbors. And you should see the organized underground parking garage which includes an escalator and guards. They charge you for the privilege of coming to church except when there's an event, and they charge you by the hour. They charge you $8 if you stay over 3 hours, which might not be a problem because I saw mercades in the basement.

4ede55 No.14102

The point is they tried to build it so hip and modern that it looked like a modern art museum, and felt like a generic classy big building. I I felt zero spirituality that I could call Christian when the aesthetics had been so watered down.

Meanwhile two blocks from the church were homeless people and some guy had dressed up as Snake.

Looks cool. I have no problem with that if it's not made with public money.

4ff2cb No.14106

It looks like it was built to be some museum but was turned into a church at the last minute. Not really digging the colors going on inside. I actually think the building >>14101here looks better. Like something you're supposed to climb up in an open world game.

But at the end of the day it's still a church offering the same crap as any other church though now with an admission fee.

>>14103

That is an oddly specific encounter.

Modern churches trigger the shit out of traditionalist catholics.

df9f48 No.14108

Well, in the past churches were built like castles to defend their parishes from outside threats. It's no surprise that contemporary churches aspire to appear like the current iteration of the building that provides the most protection, namely the bunker.

Good observation, but I think underground parking garages are winding labyrinths that are designed to lead to the lower levels of hell.

I didn't mention that it had a mausoleum too, like so in the lower level too. Why a new church needed to keep the tradition of creepy catacombs is a mystery. It could show that the Catholic leadership have made an underground pact with Satan, and that the new churches are built on hellmouths. The tunnels will make it easier to whisk souls to hell, for Satan to invade the Earth, and for molesting bishops to escape from the authorities.

>guilt tripped

But that only works on people capable of feeling guilt

4ff2cb No.14123

>>14122

Probably said that it could be the last time he saw her before she dies which begs the question, why let that time be in a place you don't like? What if you had a grand time with someone and then they asked you to meet again in a place you hate and didn't go to? If that person died, should you feel guilty even though the last memory is positive?

47e347 No.14126

Does it even have an altar? Or a bell?

4ede55 No.14133

>>14126

There was a plain hardwood table covered in white table cloth, so yes. It would be funny if the bells were pre-recorded like you hear at modern schools.
