>>2907>how seriously do people here consider the prejudice against atheist?I know it's out there but it doesn't really bother me that much. If you look at it objectively it's really not that bad and looks like it's only going to get better in the near future.
>Least trusted by peers.Someone might say they don't trust atheists in general but I find (and admittedly this is just my personal experience) it's usually not hard to get them to trust you if they actually get to know you and see you aren't Satan incarnate. They say, "Alright, maybe Anon is one of the good ones, but I still don't trust those bad atheists that Fox News keeps telling me about, the ones who want to destroy America and steal Christmas."
>Can't run for office.Sure you can! You just probably won't get elected. This does bother me a little bit and ties back to the not trusting atheists in general thing but fortunately there are candidates who can keep their politics and religion more or less separate so I don't think we're in dire need of an atheist president or anything.
>Could be used against you in legal battlesHow so?
>Can't join certain institutions or groups.>No one takes your accusations of prejudice seriously.Meh, don't really care.
I mean I get that prejudice against atheists is still a problem, but we're never going to live in a world without idiots. There will always be people who don't like or accept something about you for stupid reasons, but I think we're approaching a world where you can pretty much ignore them and there's nothing they can do about it, which is good enough for me.
