See, some SJW's have a very narrow view of atheism. They see the obnoxious part of the movement with the really unpleasant fedoratipping edgelords who both sides hate, who think they know everything. They associate these people with MRA's, and they think every MRA is a horrible woman hating person who's out to attack everything they stand for.
This is why they made atheism+, to kick the people they deemed undesirable out and give the give the movement a "clean slate".

I think they associate religions like islam with their protected minorities and think it's oppressive to challange their beliefs, or maybe they dislike the insulting tone of people like Hitchens, he used to offend a lot of people and became an icon of atheism, I also suspect that atheists that left religion tend to have a strong logical immune system and probably call them out on their bs more often than religious people

Atheism, as it currently stands, is an incredibly sexist and problematic movement. The most prominent voices are all bad ones.
