what a terrible straw man argument.

I grew up in a secular household, my parent were lapsed Catholics and never talked about god.

But I got the "golden rule" morality of do unto others with the justification that if you don't play nice no one will want to play with you.

This simple reasoning is probably the beginning of moral reasoning. People are social primates and need to co-exist some how to survive.

Some Shaman just globbed on to morality to justify his voodoo.

Religious conman are great at finding out what we value and appropriating it.

Find me a Pro-family quote from Jesus. Find me a "God given right" in the Bible.

This video from voat is great at showing how the stories in genesis derived from earlier pre-hebrew sources, which were absorbed by them. He touches on a lot of subjects so it's a good 30 minute overview.

Evolution explains the development of social behaviors like altruism which goes on to explain morals. The mistake is "evolution does away with morals" when actually it's the lack of gods that frees all from absolute punishment for being immoral. In other words since there is no god you can get away with being immoral while with god you are certain to be judged for your immoral action.

Not acting morally may have its consequences but so does acting morally. Depends on the situation and if your reason to be moral is the benefit you may as well act according to self interest rather than abide by some moral code since you always work to maximize your benefit this way.

If I do something that harms others there are consequences. What part of "Play nice or the other kids won't play with you" didn't you understand?

Antisocial behavior gets you expelled from society.

>Play nice or the other kids won't play with you
That's not true in all cases. Some kids are masochists like many adults. There are other reasons to play with people which has nothing to do with how niceness. Maybe they have a neat toy nobody else has, maybe they prank the moralfags really well and it's fun even though it isn't nice, etc.

Exposed antisocial behavior that the majority doesn't approve of gets you expelled. The key is not to get caught or to be antisocial in a way that is socially acceptable.

This is why moralfaggotry is like a religion, it limits how you think about things that do not contradict the physicality of the universe.

I agree with you. I was just giving the typical Christian response.

I see zero guarantee that the same shit wouldn't happen all over again, just with a different name.
