New to this board and want to know the rules? Have a question for atheists? Then you should probably read the FAQ (Updated: 3/19/15). It's not necessary, but don't be surprised if people ignore you if you don't elaborate further on a question already answered here, or the moderator does something you didn't expect.

Something about browsing the r/atheism is making me laugh. The thread titles are so political and aggressive, but the comments are one-liner throwaway garbage. I'm picturing a teenager that lets out a whoop everytime he sees the word Atheist in an article, and then feels the need to immediately jot a quick reply in lowercase letters to express himself, even if he's just echoing the other people. He adds the thirtieth reply on a thread about how being Atheist is worse than being black. Then he clicks the back button, hollers again, and rushes to write a similar comment on the article below it.

One of the comments I read said, "I'm female and an Atheist." Someone thought that was worth sharing.

you want real atheism go to r/chritsianity that's where all the atheist congregate to take shots at Christianity and promote atheism

just look at all the upvotes these guys got for saying the bible is not real and telling people who said otherwise to repent. And look at all the downvotes the other guy got for saying it is. It's reddit, you gotta expect they fail at everything, r/christianity is where the real atheism board is at.

well here's the thing, r/chrsitianity says all are welcome and has been specifically created as a place where everyone of every view can state their opinions freely and feel comofrtable.

Soon the chrisitan posters were bullied and kicked out and all that remained are people who promote and say things that even outsiders like you would rectonize as wrong or unchristian (like supporting and encouraging trans teens rebel and runaway from home or saying the bible is only 50 years old)

The point is you gotta black out bad and false ideas or the forum will look like r/christainity. A chrisitain forum shouldn't be comfortable or pleasant for atheists and unbelievers because if it were it would look like r/christianity and not really be Christian in the sense you recognize

I'm not versed on r/christian, but I don't agree with this. I've seen that the /christian/ forum is definitely how you shouldn't run a forum, where Atheists and Christians regularly have legitimate discussions and debates deleted. It just gives the impression that Christians are insecure about their beliefs, and fake about willingness to evangelize.

If your faith is strong and justified, it should handle any test. A Christian can even ignore arguments he doesn't want to deal with, but deleting them makes him look childish and insecure. /christian/ greatly prioritizes protecting Christian egos and their emotions, rather than enabling honest and unfiltered questions that may lead to the truth for every participant.

well your rationalizing looks like that but the forum itself looks like this

even now go here

https://www.reddit.com/r/Christianity/comments/32nybv/in_india_hindu_extremists_block_good_friday/

top upboat comment is defending hindus in India for persecuting and killing Christians.

I realize that this might make atheists feel more comfortable and it might fit better with how you think things should be run, and if you do, you are free to visit their subreddit and I'm sure you'll get along there and I can promise you won't be banned there.

The issue is is that forum Christian, is it a Christian communiyt. and any of you can decide that based on the images I posted and by visiting there and lurking if you like

and I want to add, if you think it's because Christians cannot tolerate or stand up to logical debate, check to see if it was logical debate that was being used in reddit to change perspectives or convince of the correctness of one side.

>S-someone disagreed with me on the internet. What a bunch of bullies!
>They're forcing me to leave

>saying the bible is only 50 years old

Reading comprehension.

well if that looks like what a properly functioning christian community looks like to you, then go ahead and visit and spread atheism to your hearts content. Just leave the one here be, I suppose we are just too stiff and stupid, not like those clever redditors and you.

This actually brings up the question of how to sidestep talking to young/immature people on the internet. Is a person justified in continuing to use older mediums like IRC and webrings, in order to avoid the latest mediums where the youngest masses swarm and show their stupidity? I popped into a creative writing club run by a college sophomore and most of them used Reddit. Sophmores are still kids.

Being atheist is worse than being black. Black people can get immense financial aid for college and diversity quotas for jobs when atheists can't.

Non-black people also are attracted to rap culture and black religion. Many people are also attracted to blacks. Atheists do not enjoy the same joys.

Some people go too far to play the victim card though. One day their mom tells them the truth that they're not black and…

"What do you mean I'm not black?! Then I'm going to be a Atheist! I'm gonna skip church and march in the Atheist Pride Parade, you want to come Mom? What's that…speak louder, 'cas I can't hear you?….How dare you Christians tell me what to do, condemn me, or disown me! I am definitely not using reverse psychology on you!…..Can you repeat that?"

*goes to Reddit to angst about his argument with mom*

*goes to battle the Feminists for the title of the most oppressed white minority*
