In all seriousness though, I've known a few people who've done it. From what I gather it's kind of boring but the money's okay, and you won't be spending much money while enlisted anyway so you can save heaps of it easily and put it towards buying a house. Plus depending on what specialization you end up doing you can potentially learn a useful skill that you can make a decent career out of afterwards i.e. mechanical engineering, electronics, etc.

I was thinking of just doing an infrantry entry because I'm already going into uni to study paramedicine, but trades and stuff they teach there is always possible, plus the basic training they provide is good

Got rejected about a month back, make sure all your school reports are good, you're in a sport club and you're normie as fugg with a lot of friends and busy social life.

They grill you pretty bad but from my failed application they are looking for those three things the most.

Other than that just commit everything about the role you're applying for to memory. The terms of your service. And know a bit of military general knowledge - they throw in a couple of odball questions sometimes ie "what does HMAS stand for?".

I started the recruitment process for joining the Navy a few years ago but ended up blowing it off because at the time I had a recently new girlfriend.

In hindsight, it was wrong to blow it off because of a woman, but I'm glad I didn't join and promise to risk my life for a nation that doesn't give two fucks about its white European history.

Let them recruit shit skins and the somalians they keep bringing into the country instead. Oh wait, most of the armed services are white!

Do you like walking all day with 30kg+ on your back? You'll love it. Otherwise, infantry is boring as hell, except on the odd occasion you get to put your skills to work. You'll get promised that you'll be able to do heaps of cool shit, but you rarely will. In saying, I loved the fuck out of it. You meet some really good dudes and some really fucking shitty dudes. If you go rainf, try and get into DFSW or mortars, it's hell fun.

Stay away from non-combat and arty, trade skills won't get recognised outside.

I got out when I busted myself on pre-deployment, but I'm working on my gainz and fitness again to get back in chairforce so I can go for JTAC/CCT. Really though, it's more a career than just a passing job. Stay away from the navy, they're a bunch of fuckwits, although I've heard submariner jobs earn a shitload.

It's not worth the money and free medical and dental. Especially in Australia's current political situation. They are already trying to fuck police out of money which they are entitled to for being shot or injured on the job. Veterans in Australia are treated pretty badly too.
